Read moreTasty Thai place in New Town Plaza Sha Tin. The weekday lunch set is a really good deal for ~120$hkd, includes a drink, salad, soup, and main. Nara is my favourite Thai place in Sha tin / NT area, very worth a try!
After trying most of the things on the menu, everything so far tastes pretty good, you can't go wrong with any dish. my favourites are: pineapple fried rice Pad Thai yellow curry crab/chicken boat noodles coconut chicken soup (Tom Kha gai) tom yum kung thai iced milk tea satay skewers mango sticky rice
The pineapple seafood friend rice is very well cooked and delicious seafood flavor, and nara is probably my favourite Thai iced milk tea in Hong Kong.
All Nara's dishes taste great and hit the mark, but I find the overall spiciness, seasoning, and overall flavor intensity etc. to be a bit toned down for HK taste compared to being in Thailand. I wish they gave more cilantro, lime, and chili!
The dinner/standard menu is expensive-ish, but as expected for the location in a busy mall. For dinner/weekend around 200-350$/pax. There are definitely more expensive and worse tasting sit-down Thai restaurants in HK.
Decor is very pretty and comfy, the food has really nice presentation,...

"Boat noodle" was big with various types of beef such as beef ball, beef shank, slices of beef, beef tripe, and beef tendon. Those were tasty, but some tendons still are hard.
The most disappointing dish was the coconut chicken soup. I did taste the coconut, but the soup was too salty and unexpectedly sour. There were some pieces of chicken inside, but it looked like a cut chicken steak, and the soup actually had no taste of chicken broth at all.
Lastly, the dessert was the most appreciated, the sticky rice was served with delicious coconut dressing. However the mango was sour, which I supposed to...
