The food from this place is delicious. There are some really great options. This restaurant also shares the same kitchen as two other adjourning venues.
The reason I have to give one star is this place was incredibly understaffed when I ate dinner. Even though staff were thoroughly cooked running to do their job there simply wasn't enough coverage. This was evidenced by people having to continually wave to get hot water re-fills.
This is one of those places that has no sense of old school eating order with everything coming whenever. Fancy your green vegetables coming out first which was tasty yet usually you want this closer to the end with the main type dishes. Then we had a tasty fried rice come out which sadly was extremely oily, you could see it on the large serving spoon, after dishing it out each time. Much later our pork stomach soup came out which was delicious yet you'd normally want to get this first.
The whole reason we came to eat here was for their braised pork with mui choy dish. It took over an hour to arrive. It was very stressful chasing this up. The Staff pretended to care. The well meaning Captain did all he could yet there was obviously some issue in the kitchen which wasn't explained.
What should have been a lovely meal was ruined by the mindlessness of the meal delivery. Additionally the outfitting of this restaurant was starting to look a little tired, worn and the seats felt a bit low. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this venue unless you have all the time and patience...
Read moreAbsolute shocking service from most of the staff. We came on a Monday night and the place was not even that busy at all (now we know why!). It was ridiculous that it took at least 30minutes for a bowl of boiled rice to arrive at the table after asking for it at least 3 times! No communication between staff at all! It’s not as if the place was busy, there was about 10 tables at the most including us getting ‘served’ there was easily enough staff for 2 per table at least yet they couldn’t even get a bowl of rice to us! But that’s not the worst of all. What takes the cake literally! We had a birthday cake at the end which we gave to them beforehand, to surprise our dad with. When we asked for the cake to come out. They gave us the cake still in the original box untouched and had the audacity to ask us $200 to cut the cake for us! In conclusion, food was underwhelming for the price, service was non-existent and an insult to actual service. I don’t normally do reviews but I couldn’t overlook this incident and looking forward to hearing news when’s this ‘restaurant’...
Read moreEvery time we come to Hong Kong , we will try to come to this Restaurant for lunch or dinner . We visited today again . However the quality of food seems drop a lot . The Mini pan fried baby oysters with scrambled eggs 煎蠔烙 is so oily and like deep fired in oil . It was totally not the traditional Chiuchow style . Service is so so ..... I would suggest to keep up your standard for the quality of food and service standard . Not only the price . A bit disappointed with this visit and hope the management or head chef can keep and eye on your quality of food...
