Shake Shack (New Town Plaza) — Restaurant in Hong Kong

Shake Shack recently opened their 6th branch in the city at the New Town Plaza shopping mall in Sha Tin. Opening hours are 10am to 10pm daily.

You can expect the traditional Shake Shack setup, order at the front counter, take your pager and wait for it to ring, pick up your food and drinks, have a seat and enjoy. Menu is the same as the other Shake Shacks around the city, seating area is nice, clean and with decent pictures on the wall for decoration.

To be honest, I've not been particularly hot on Shake Shack here in Hong Kong. My first two experiences six months apart at the original Shake Shack at IFC were both very poor and this has kept me away from the latest openings around the city. However, I did recently stop by the new branch at New Town Plaza and was quite happy with what they served up.

During this lunch, I had a single Smoke Shack that was very good. beef patty tasted natural and nice, bacon and generous portion of chopped cherry peppers that were vibrant and flavourful. Importantly, the bun wasn't soggy from long exposure to too much beef juice, a real issue with burgers I was served at the first IFC branch. All and all, this was a very good Smoke Shack - similar to what I've eaten and enjoyed at Manhattan based Shake Shacks over the years.

Fries served with firm and crispy, salted just right and tasted fine. Lemonade was very sweet but worked with the savoury lunch.

Overall, was much happier with my lunch at the Shake Shack in New Town Plaza. I will gladly eat here again and may venture out and try other sister branches around the city...

First time was leaving Singapore at the airport so couldn’t have it more then.

Wasn’t going to miss out on it this time in Hong Kong.

When you just realise their burgers are out of this world, you have the Cheesy crinkle fries and they unlock a whole different dopamine centre in your brain.

Pure bliss.

My goto is their chocolate shake, not every branch makes it that perfectly but a few tries and you’ll find the perfect one.

Delicious. This is what I ate:

1. shack burger 9/10 The burger was delicious and the patty worked so well with the cheese! The lettuce could have some improvements but overall good job!

2. mango passion fruit lemonade 8/10 The lemonade was so good! The mango did not really stand out but I love that you taste the passion fruit first and the sourness after!
