Yuxing Ji definitely lives up to its reputation as a time-honoured culinary destination in Shanghai.

The Crab Roe Noodles are the true star of the show here. These noodles come bathed in a luscious sauce bursting with rich crab roe flavour, a truly indulgent and satisfying dish.

The classic soup dumplings (xiao long bao) are equally delicious, with delicate skins holding a flavourful broth and juicy pork filling.

We also ordered crab roe soup dumplings, which arrived a bit later than the other items. If you're ordering the crab roe noodles, opt for the traditional xiao long bao instead. The combination of both crab roe noodles and crab roe soup dumplings can be a bit too rich and overwhelming.

As a popular spot, be prepared for a wait to get a table, especially during peak dining hours. However, once seated, the service was surprisingly prompt and efficient as our food arrived quickly.

Recommend by a local. One of the best crab roe noodle restaurants in the area. We dined in for lunch and dinner several times because it was flavorful. The steam soup dumplings is a must and their crab roe noodles is amazing. The plain noodles are unlimited so each crab roe noodle order come with sides, a bowl of crab roe soup that is use to mix with the plain noodles. One bowl of crab roes soup mixed with one bowl of noodle was too strong in flow for us, so we requested 2 plain noodles at no extra cost. We shared a plate of crab roe noodles and dumplings between us 2 ladies and it was enough. The noodles came with tasty side dishes. The restaurant also serves a really good brown sugar red date tea which you help yourself to - perfect for the weather. Noodles and dumplings were both good and flavourful. Service was attentive though the cashier was slightly impatient with us as we took some time to read the menu and asked questions.
