Café del Mercado is a special place. They roast onsite on Mondays. And of course I wandered in on a Monday.
The aroma of the cafe is divine. I had a cappuccino and it was excellent.
This cafe would be called a "specialty" or "craft" purveyor of coffee in the U.S. In Bogota, there are many high quality cafes. This one does stand out from the 5 or 6 I've visited so far. They will brew your coffee via 3 or 4 methods, to your liking.
The server and barista were very patient with my Español. The server spoke to me in good English. That was very much appreciated. We chatted about coffee in general and he recommended cafes for my next destination, Medellin.
