(Can’t review on booking.com because they deleted our reservation) Really disappointing to have to give this hostel just one star, but they robbed us of 284.980 Pesos(62€). They failed to inform us of the fact that the apartment you can book through the hostel is in fact not at the hostel but about an 8 minutes walk from there (it wasn’t stated anywhere on booking). Doesn’t sound like a lot but we arrived at around half past one at night because we were stuck at immigration and where suprised to be told that we had ubered to the wrong place. Since we are two young girls an 8 minute walk at night in a city like bogota can be very dangerous. The guy at the reception said it was very safe and that we could walk without a problem we decided to trust him and walk to the other hotel. Luckily we were stopped by a group of 4 locals that yelled after us and told us to definitely get an uber because it was very unsafe. Anyway, after arriving at the apartment we were very confused. It had a kitchen and one bed, even though the description on booking didn’t mention any kitchen and said it had 2 beds. Because we were so exhausted from our trip we decided to just sleep there one night and then go to the hostel and switch rooms. That seemed to be no problem. We were told we would get the difference back( the apartment is 160.000 per night, the twin room 80.000 on booking). We asked about the money almost everyday and were always told we would get it later. Then after some while we were told that all the free stuff we had consumed (which was supposedly for the inconvenience) would make up for the difference. This seemed very wrong to us because all of it only came out 57.000 and they owed us over 300.000. After complaining again on the last day they suddenly informed us we would only get 20% of our money back. Needless to say we will be filing a complaint with booking and demanding our money back. Unacceptable. Don’t let them scam you

DON’T STAY HERE! WE WISH WE READ REVIEWS PROPERLY BEFORE BOOKING! The photos are extremely misleading, and the staff don’t care about the service they provide to you at all, they just want your money. We booked a private room, and just like another reviewer states, we were placed in a windowless bunkbed room inside the main foyer area, right next to the bar and the nightclub area. The night we arrived the hostel was hosting an “event” for a new music artist (wasn’t music in my opinion), and we were told the music would be going on until 4am. The music was so loud we couldn’t even hear each other speak inside our private room. The hostel was SO busy, all Colombians, with people shouting right outside our room, as well as the music - this wasn’t exactly the environment we wanted after a long travel day. And the fact this was not advertised anywhere online before we booked and paid was absolutely ridiculous. After we were told the music would be going on until 4am, we asked for a refund and to move hostels. (May I just add that even when the music would stop at 4am, the whole general public would be congregating outside our room shouting, probably off their faces - and as another reviewer states, the hostel staff don’t do anything to stop this). Anyway, we asked for a refund, and they said yes but we needed to send an email asking so the communication is written down. So we sent the email… no reply…. So we went back in the next day and asked for them to reply. We were told that the person responsible wasn’t working that day, but they would reply the following day. They did reply a few days later… after we had left the city, saying we weren’t entitled to a refund. So basically, they just completely lied to our faces and took advantage of the fact that we would be leaving Bogota and not able to chase in person anymore. If you’re not a domestic Colombian tourist, please don’t stay here.

Que bueno! Gad a great stay at this hostel. Excellent location, very friendly staff. We were in a double. It is true that the walls a very thin and the doorways are not floor-to-ceiling (i.e. there are gaps at the top of the doorways — just put ear plugs in if you are sensitive to sound) and sometimes the showers are not hot (there is a sign saying to go to the front desk if this is the case, but I don’t typically want to do that in my towel), but totally manageable. Did the Tuesday Salsa lesson and made some new friends!

negative and but : because of the staff I would definitely recommend it but in terms of the hostel it is difficult the roof urgently needs to be renovated because it drips in when it rains outside especially where the reception is it cannot be that when it rains the reception needs an umbrella to work and then everything on the sofa is wet because of the broken roof that is really embarrassing and a no go for a hostel and there is also a big puddle on the stairs to the rooms because of the rain which became really dangerous when going down or up which could have ended badly In the kitchen I think there should be two cooking lines, one for the guests and one for the hostel and staff, because when the hostel cooks for the restaurant/bar there is almost no space to cook, which is what I have observed, which doesn't go down well with the guests and the guests tell others about such situations and it goes on and on, including the rain in the hostel Positiv: Hostel is in la Candelaria oldtown tourist district with many restaurants/cafes nearby and shopping opportunities. The hostel is cleaned every day. If you have any problems you will be helped or given information. Very friendly staff. Thank you André, Victoria, Valentinia, Emilia, Santi for the lovely stay. You were great and for the dance evenings. See you soon. Kiss your hearts would recommend the hostel to everyone the management just needs to get the water problem and kitchen under control because of and for the guests otherwise it would be tiptop at the...
