My conclusion: Totally overrated. Or maybe in order to fit service response times they sacrificed quality... I usually trust Tulio's reviews but recently or either the place has a menu for him, another for clients... or the review was sponsored... anyway his reviews moves a lot of people i saw people waiting in the rain....
Stopping with speculations... Pork skins are well achieved and a must to order, but the sauce is quite unbalanced, a lot of cummin there...
It's weird that one of their insignia dishes (a pork chest rack), is not recommended by the service... Asked for it anyway and can't be further away from the description, is dry and doesn't fill as slow cooked meet or they really screwed the process this day ..
Never offer a garnish you don't know well; i came.today from Medellín, and get excited to let my friends taste corn bread... seriously go to Medellín and ask in LeCoq for a damn well cooked corn bread; for the price is a shame to have such a bad achieved bread
I payed a lot, got disappointed..., i can only say taste the pork skin starter and enjoy tasteful drinks, this is the only thing i can't complain, they were quite tasty, refreshing, balanced in sweet and not stacked with ice, maybe the chef was tired and did the...
Read moreI rarely write reviews, but my recent visit to La Fama was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share. From start to finish, the experience was a letdown. The food was equally underwhelming. The appetizers were bland and overcooked, We order the brisket and was dried and tasteless, it seems that it was prepared long time ago and heated up in the microwave to be served to us. The so-called “specialty” dish I ordered was not only overpriced but also came out looking nothing like the menu description. To top it off, the portion sizes were ridiculously small for the price. Another disappointed issue was when I asked to please replace a flour tortilla for a corn tortilla in one of their dishes, they denied my simple request stating that they cant do that per management rules. I asked for a better statement so I can understand why and the manager just got rude and very nasty with me. Overall, La Fama was a major disappointment. I don’t think I’ll be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of other places in Bogota that offer better food and service for wait cheaper and better service. This BBQ...
Read moreThis place is awesome! I should have taken pictures but it all look so good. Ribs are the juiciest of the meats. Brisket was not as moist but still delicious which would be my only critique but it’s on par with BBQ in Colombia (typically overcooked). Oh yeah and no Corn Bread #sadface The coleslaw was tasty but the piece that won me over was the Mac and Cheese!!! Sauce was cheese with real cheese, mixed with just a bit of jalapeños (and not spicy because I can’t handle it and I only got the flavour without the spice) and topped with little crumb pieces of chicharrones. Absolutely delicious! The music too made me feel at home. Fugees and Buju and so much more. LOVE this place and...
