Trip Monkey ZONA G — Hotel in Bogota, Capital District

We only spent 15 minutes in the hostel, so perhaps our review isn’t wholly accurate of how the hostel truly is. However, the sheets, pillows and comforter in our room were covered in hair. Different shades and lengths… when was the last time they were washed?? No pillow cases on the pillows either. Perhaps we needed to purchase them?? Nobody mentioned that to us however. After pulling the comforter back and seeing even more hair on the sheets underneath we immediately booked another hostel and left. Staff were extremely pleasant for our short interaction, otherwise I would’ve rated them lower. Also, seemed to be in a great location. Perhaps with your own sheets and traveling on a budget, this place would be a good option. We didn’t tell the staff about our dissatisfaction, so they didn’t have the opportunity to make it right, perhaps they would’ve. But… We were just too grossed out to even deal with trying to make...

I very much enjoyed my 3 night stay at Trip Monkey. I was a little weary at first, as there were some bad reviews on Booking.com. However, it was an amazing, clean, hostel in a great location.

Staff is extremely friendly Hostel is cleaned very frequently Bed and space is very big and super comfortable Location: literally right next to amazing restaurants/bakery/mini tiendas. Extremely safe in the Chapinero area (obviously don’t walk around where there aren’t any other people). Feels like you’re in Europe. Though I recommend seeing the local suburbs of Bogota!

It’s not a party hostel but I met some great people here. Highly recommend for the price.

I guess if you are a light sleeper it can get annoying because the walls are thin and you can hear any noise, if others are awake at night. Ear plugs...

I can’t recommend this hostel. For several reasons: first it is really loud. The hostel is next to a big and very noisy street. It’s almost impossible to get some sleep because the windows are just glasses with no absorption. And if this isn’t enough…you can hear everything from the neighbors room.

Second and very important: The hostel didn’t want to give me my refund. Even though I canceled in time they wanted to give me just 50% back of what I paid. After three days of discussions they told me best they can do is 90% - although 100% is written in the policy. It’s a scam.
