This is one of Bogota’s finest in Dining and Service. Daniel answered the phone when I called, he speaks fluent English. When we arrived Daniel and Team responded first class for what turned out to be a three hour gourmet delight. Let me start, this is a first class culinary restaurant. Well trained Team and seasoned to keen attention to service; and detail in their presentations. We were seated in a special window seating for privacy and quite important conversation. With Daniel’s help I went to the wine cellar and chose a superb Malbec. You know your night is going to be special when the wine is decanted without being asked!!! We started the evening with grilled octopus and an interesting sausage which complemented the octopus amazingly nice. Next we had fresh tuna superbly prepared rare on a beautiful mix of local fresh vegetables in a bowl configuration which made the presentation outstanding. I told you this is a must visit restaurant experience. My choice was a beautifully prepared duck breast in a very and pleasing orange sauce. The duck which is a favorite of mine was expertly prepared crisp and perfect. We ordered a second bottle of Malbec as we had a car service waiting for us. The dessert was very special, a solid chocolate petite four accompanied by homemade vanilla ice cream. I have been Blessed to have experienced Brussels chocolate district many times. Move over Brussels, Restaurante Daniel is here to give you solid competition. This may have been my most remembered dinner in all Latin America. What followed was enjoyment of the Malbec and amazing conversation with my very very special dinner guest. Restaurante Daniel in Bogota will be my go to restaurant in Bogota for the special one and business deal closings!! Bravo...
Read moreI was excited and looking forward to eating and drinking here. This was my first time visiting Columbia and Bogota. I had a reservation today for 6pm. I showed up a few mins early. They checked my info and took me to my table, right away. It was outside and the atmosphere was nice. They turned on the heating lamp since it was a little chilly. They left but came right back with an English menu. I looked at their extensive menu and picked a wine, an appetizer and a main dish. I waited and waited and waited. 5 mins went by. 10 mins went by. Nobody came to check on me. Not even water. 15 mins went by. I walked out. I'm a patient person but it wasn't even that busy. They had maybe five tables filled. Definitely disappointed. I won't be...
Read moreTwo members of our party suffered severe food poisoning after eating here.
Everything during our visit seemed off. We were greeted by a rude waiter who seemed stoned. He seated us at tables that look nothing like the elegant scene in the pictures. Asked about wine and were told there was no wine menu. Music was blaring in the kitchen, and speakers in the dining room kept alternating between blaring pop music and complete silence (we were eventually told that they were testing out their new audio system).
The food tasted generally good, although heavy and greasy,
But within a couple hours of eating here, horrible food poisoning set in. Nausea, vomiting, fever -- the whole works. It made for a horrible day of...
