The Market - Brunch & Casual Gourmet at Zona G — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

Great food. I've dined here 3 times during visits to Bogota. Twice for dinner and once for Saturday brunch. I had the Corvina the first visit and the Salmon the 2nd. Both times the fish entrees we're cooked and executed perfectly. The brunch was also delicious, with many different yummy offerings. I was also a big fan of the service. Friendly, polite and everyone that I interacted with truly provided service with a smile, and conveyed a sincere eager to please execution. Let me give you a few examples of special gestures. In no particular order.

1. during a dinner visit my date and I say down and then the hostess brought a jacket hanger over to our table. The same hostess was there for all 3 visits and was very helpful and friendly
2. Same hostess brought me English menus to the table
3. I inquired about what I thought was the salad bar, but it was actually a fresh pasta bar with various crudite of cheese & vegetables. The waiter grabbed a plate and said it was not a problem for me to enjoy anything I wanted
4. I knocked over an empty wine glass. I was embaresed but the entire staff was very nice. To be honest. They also cleaned up the shards with little disturbance to me and my companion's conversation.
5. I couldn't finish my salmon and asked to have it boxes to go,. I absent mindedly forgot to wait for the box before leaving. I stopped to use the washroom and when I came out, a server came up to me with my 'doggie bag'. The next day when I opened my leftovers. I was floored to find a full salmon filet. I am not sure what caused that, but they sent me home with a full portion of the entree I had half eaten. This was also cooked perfectly

Too noisy for comfort

We came here after reading the recommendations and found the place easily at the Mariott.

The head waiter showed us to our table in the stylish, high-ceiling dining area. Our orders were taken promptly, if with communication problems due to the high noise level.

The food was all right, they offer a selection of latin meals that has something for everyone. I'd advise to stay away from the poque, though.

Unfortunately, we gave up on having any conversation rather quickly due to the insufferable noise level coming from the kitchen area. We went through our meals quickly and left for drinks elsewhere. A...

This place is inside the JW Marriott hotel, but it's open to the public. As a restaurant in a 5-star hotel it is kind of expensive, but this one is just above fair, not weirdly overpriced. Service is fantastic, food is good but not great.

I went for the burger buffet, a buffet line with different patties, vegetables, cheeses, and buns available. If you find it take advantage of the possibility, the diversity of the cheese fridge and the multiple choices for vegetables are worth it.
