We stayed four nights at the The Artisan D.C Hotel between Christmas and New Year. The hotel is beautiful, well kept and the neighborhood was excellent. We loved the warm decor and boutique feel of the hotel. The area surrounding the hotel is clean and safe to walk even at night. We walked to dinner every evening and found a new restaurant close by each time. Restaurante Armadillo directly across the street was our favorite. |However, the hotel was lacking was in service, primarily before our arrival. Their lack of attention spilled over to our stay and left us with a less than desirable feel. We had contacted the hotel prior to our arrival for transfers from the airport, we were informed that we would be contacted once arrangements were made. After some time, we had no confirmation of transport, so called back the hotel speaking to a gentleman who stated again that we would be informed once they had arranged transportation. We still heard nothing, so made prepaid arrangements through Emirates Airline. We were then contacted and given information about our driver, assuming this was the one we paid for, we accepted our ride and arrived at the hotel. Apparently the hotel arranged transport, but did not inform us. We ended up paying for the transportion the we arranged AND that the hotel arranged. The frustrating part is the decision to require us to pay, was made after management looked into the situation. The deciding factor seemed to be that they had emailed us with the confirmation. When we asked what email it was sent to, we saw it was not ours. They stated that we gave them the wrong email!! What ??? Why?? We also called twice to get confirmation, but received none. We did pay them for their error, but left the hotel feeling like we were dealing with scammers. Very unfortunate because the property is very nice if you do not count the lack of...
Read moreWe had a wonderful one night stay at the Artisan DC hotel. As a Marriott platinum member, this property lives up to any expectation and goes beyond what any member would want! First, the check-in was a breeze! We arrived exceptionally early since we wanted to a head start on our last full day in bogota. David at the front desk was absolutely helpful and accommodating in all facets. He provided a great room upgrade to the master suite, a custom car service that catered to our needs and of course, the free breakfast that has local fruit and local food with a touch of elegance! Absolutely, a friendly and professional person to take care of your needs during the stay! Also, our driver, Hernan, was the absolute best and we couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of us! Even with a language barrier, we were able to communicate non verbally and via google translate! For future travelers, highly consider with the transportation service facilitated by the hotel, it might be more cost effective than buying travel tours per person. As for the property, it was absolutely stunning. From the lobby layout, the in house restaurant, coffee bar, gym to our gorgeous room, it was pristine! The neighborhood was extremely safe with access to restaurants all around. Highly recommend for any future Marriott...

I tried to extend one more night and they did not keep the same price, second night was way higher and expensive, anyway I stayed one more night.Second day, the cleaning ladies started knocking my door at 10 am, told them to wait cuz I was there, and they kept coming every 30 minutes to ask… even when they knew my check out what the same day 2 hours later… I told the front desk staff the issue and they apologized again and the gave me a free chocolate… even the hotel is nice, I didn’t have a great time, rooms are average, bed is normal queen size, they called the room “city view” but the room faced a building, breakfast was just okay. I won’t recommend this hotel, only because is well located but there are plenty of more options...
