Wu Dumplings and Beer — Restaurant in Bogota, Capital District

2 months here in Colombia has been so hard for me to find asian foods ( the good ones). I tried different asian cuisine in food hub cities like Medellin, Cartagena and other places but my asian taste buds were never impressed. And I found this asian inspired diner that serves really good chinese foods! Again chinese food! Not japanese food which is kind of a trend here in Colombia.

I ordered my all time fave stir-fry egg noodles, wanton soup and shrimp dumplings. Of course, I requested lots of chili oils for dipping. For wonton soup, the broth is just amazing and full of flavor. A great food to eat especially that it's chilly in Bogota. For the wonton, I think it was just too thick for me ( just my preference, coz I like thinner wonton texture). For the stir-fry egg noodles, it was flavorful. I love the fact that it's not that really thick. I wish it had more scallions, more vegetables and good volume soy sauce ( or maybe you can request the chef to do it). For the dumplings, straight 9/10. I love the vinegar they used to somehow bathe the dumplings.

I really didn't care much for this place. I'm giving them 3 stars because the flavors were good and at least they had in stock everything we ordered.

We ordered the ramen and some dumplings. After living for 25 years in NYC and visiting Japan, I think I have a pretty good idea of what Ramen should taste and look like, and this wasn't it. The first and major disappointment was the size, OMG! I just saw my Ramen coming in a tiny ice cream size bowl, forget about trying to at least imitate the nice deep japanese bowls, this was like a ramen sample size. It was served lukewarm, and thank God we added the 5 pieces of chicken extra otherwise it would have been only the broth, some scarce veggies, a tiny amount of noodles, and HALF egg lol, not even the full egg. The cinnamon-jamaica drink was also served in tinny cups. I guess the only thing that was adult size were the dumplings. I'm aware that restaurants in Colombia try to minimize the size of their dishes to increase the profits but in this case I felt robbed. Los empaques son muy bien diseñados, y la comida llega en perfecto estado.
