As a former server and captain for Michelin star restaurants in NYC I have never been disrespected the way our server Daniela treated us three nights ago when I took my Mom out for dinner. We are Colombian and native Spanish speakers. After having 2 drinks each, in Spanish I told Daniela our server, can you please bring me a tequila with sparkling water cocktail? I asked specifically for whatever GENERAL tequila they use in their cocktails. Note: their menu DOES NOT list the specific brands that they use in their cocktails. it only says tequila, rum, vodka, etc.. Daniela then tried to sneak a $96.000 shot of Maestro Dobel on me with a $40.000 bottle of San Pellegrino on the side. That is $136.000 for a cocktail and I also had to make it myself? She dropped it in front of me so quickly I had to wait for her to come back again to turn down what she brought me. When I brought it to her attention and told her that this is not what I asked for she had the audacity to argue with me and tell me that because she had done what I asked her to do and that she would not be able to take it back or take it off of the bill. She also said that I had already been drinking the "premium cocktails" and that I should have known when ordering a tequila soda that it would be premium tequila. Out of respect for the guest you ask what specific tequila they want. You don't just order them one of the most expensive tequila's on the menu. She then said she would have to bring it up to her captain, and came back and as if she was doing us a favor said she would take it off of the bill. No apology, nothing. She left such a bad taste in my mouth that I did not order another drink and we had to unfortunately cut our evening short. Wish I could have had the chance to talk to a Manager, Captain or an Owner because honestly this is not the way you run a business or treat people that are there to spend money and show support. Also who is she to argue with me and try to force something on us that we did not want or ask for? The fact that this was allowed to happen and there was no apology is one thing. But Daniela also just made us feel stupid and like we did something wrong, which is still insane to me. Much better rooftops in the Historic City, do not waste...
Read moreThey’d make a lot more money if the service wasn’t so damn slow. We got odd looks and a lack of enthusiasm or welcome from all the staff we encountered from the moment we walked in on the ground floor to the moment we left. We waited an astonishing amount of time to have our drinks order taken (there were only two of us and the place was nearly empty) then another weirdly long time for one beer and one glass of wine to be served. We asked for an ashtray and another glass of wine and were told “you can’t smoke here, you have to go over there” (even though the man sitting on the next table was smoking) but then 3 minutes later an ashtray was dropped onto our table. The second glass of wine was never delivered. We gave up after just one hour there and one drink and asked for the bill and once again we waited a stupidly long time for one to appear - and the waitress asked what we had before telling us the bill in her hand was incorrect so she needed to fix it. She then brought us THREE more bills, all of them incorrect, over the course of the next ten minutes. It was one beer and one wine, how complicated can your system be?!? There were 3 people behind the bar, 3 waiters on the floor, and what looked like a manager, for around 7 tables of 2-3 pax, and yet somehow they couldn’t produce a bill for one beer and one glass of wine.
One star for the exasperated waitress who at least seemed to care enough about trying to fix the bill, and one star under “atmosphere” because the sunset view really is beautiful. The hotel itself looks stunning - but I’d never pay to stay here if the service is that...

Highlights: Cocktails: best we had all trip. High quality, unique, balanced, and tasty. Mandarin margarita: probably one of the best margs I've ever had. Had a smoothness, a thin layer of foam on top, and just enough of a touch of mandarin to give it flavor but not sweetness. Rum old fashioned: wow. So much depth of flavor in one short glass. Signature solo ice cube to show it means business. View: overlooking the pool area below and some of the town. Jose: sweetest young man helping us. Was so welcoming and mild mannered and tentative with his English but happy to talk with us and rook great care of us Also adorably told us he heard there was a birthday -- likely from downstairs when they asked once we checked in. Said he had a surprise and would be right back. Birthday surprise: brought a plate with a slice of bread pudding and the words Felix Cumpleaños written in chocolate. Pork belly taco: tasty and juicy and with 2 small corn tortillas good for a snack. 4 stars Nut mix provided for a snack Can make reservations online on their website
Midlights: Believe signature cocktails may be pre-made vs to order. Only a few people there before dinner so may be a subset or after dinner hang out spot.
Lowlights: Sold out of 2 signature cocktails we wanted on already short list. Didn't mention that when we got the menu but only after we ordered....
Lovely experience for a last minute rooftop find before we had dinner in the area and would...
