The ceviche pasión was tasty but the girl in the kitchen didn’t realize that you have to peel the membrane off the squid beforehand and halfway through my meal I choked on a ring in the middle of the restaurant. The waitress argued with me that there was nothing she could do and after she asked if I was ok and showed all 6 pieces of membrane still left on the squid she refunded me for mine despite my mom still having unpeeled squid in hers. I recently had the pleasure of visiting La Cervesa De Cartagena, and I have to say, it was an incredible experience. The atmosphere was absolutely awesome – warm, inviting, and full of energy, with a great vibe that made me want to stay all day. The beer was ice-cold and so delicious, with a variety of options that really stood out. But what truly made the visit special was Silvia. Very nice, newly opened (as of 1/23) cerveceria with good self-brewed local beer. The beermaster offers you to try the different sorts before ordering. Food is good for accompanying the different beers. Hosts speaks some English, which is rare in Cartagena despite all the tourism. The hosts are scientists-become-hosts, people who fulfilled their dream of skillfully making and selling their own beer. Go there if you like local beer!
