Mi Llave Hostels — Hotel in Cartagena

The hostel is located at the cool & colorful historic neighborhood of Getsemani, a short walk from the old town center and major attractions and is housed in a beautiful old building.||However, the rooms and bathrooms at the time when we stayed could use a lot of work in terms on cleaning and maintenance… nothing was disgustingly dirty but nothing felt entirely clean either; bedsheets kinda tired and with stains, the furniture, curtains etc kinda dusty, no cleaning or linen change during our 3-nights stay. Bathroom and common areas in a similar condition while the door service (returning to the hostel you have to ring a bell so they let you in) is not always responsive; once we had to wait over 15 minutes in the street at night before they let us in (no apology of course).||It is not terrible but there is sooo much room for improvement… for the rest of our stay in Cartagena, we booked another place for the same price (just 1€ more per night) and it was 10 times better/newer/cleaner and with a pool, cleaning service and breakfast included… so, we definitely recommend checking your options before concluding...

Stayed here for two weeks. Could probably earn a 5 off of the quality of the staff, but unfortunately poor management brings it down to a 2. Staff are helpful and cheerful, location is pretty good, 15 minutes from anywhere in Getsemani and the Old City.

The downside was that we had booked our room for two weeks in a specific room overlooking the street with a private balcony, and, I don't think they expected us to actually stay for the whole two weeks because because after 1 week they had to move us to another room claiming emergency construction due to plumbing. We didn't experience any issues in our room but the room we were moved to was a dorm with incomplete walls and no balcony which is very inconveiniant for a married couple on their 10 year anniversary. That and the dorm room does flood a little bit and is still flooding even though the construction has finished. And our old room has now been reoccupied by a new customer even though we expressed wanting that room back. Price is right but expect careless handling.

Also toilets with toilet seats...
