Candé in Cartagena is a true oasis, offering a perfect blend of ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food. From the moment we stepped in, the decor made us feel like we’ve entered a serene haven. The lush greenery, soothing lighting, and elegant furniture create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. I started with the CANDÉ COQUETONA, a delightful cocktail featuring Zacapa Ámbar, a blend of Caribbean rums, triple sec, tamarind, and lime. Served in a unique shell-type recipient, this drink was both visually stunning and incredibly refreshing (a bit sour), setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. For appetizers, we shared the MESITA FRITOS CANDÉ, a generous platter perfect for two. It included carimañolas (yucca patties) stuffed with ground beef, mini seafood empanadas, cheese fingers, a typical corn patty, local sausage, local cheese, and yam cake. Each bite was a delightful exploration of local flavors and textures. Our entrees were equally impressive. My husband had the ARROZ MARINERO, a rich and flavorful seafood rice dish topped with a half grilled lobster tail, prawn, conch, calamari, shrimp, and black mussels. Every component was cooked to perfection, offering a true taste of the sea. I chose the ARROZ APASTELAD, a traditional rice dish with chicken, pork, potatoes, and vegetables, all slowly cooked in plantain leaves. The flavors felt authentic. They were satisfying and comforting. Despite being too full for dessert, we left completely satisfied. The service at Candé was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, Candé features a live band and dancers who bring the rich culture of Cartagena to life. The music and performances create an immersive experience, making us feel connected to the local heritage and adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your meal. I was looking for a memorable and authentic dining experience. I found that and more at Candé. The combination of exquisite food, exceptional drinks, and a tranquil atmosphere made it an outstanding choice for us.

🥘: 10/10. We were here to celebrate my best friend's 22nd birthday! But the food was absolutely exquisite, with every bite a symphony of flavors. We order 2 appetizers with many seafood, fried onion rings and Colombia appetizers! The presentation of the dishes was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The salmon and shrimp was delicate! I got the lobster bisque and it was so creamy and rich. The lobster was excellent and I loved every single sip of the soup! My friend got a risotto and a steak. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the textures were impeccable. The portion sizes were generous but we were so full! I guess we ordered way too much! Which happen every time haha! 🏷️ & 🧑🏻🍳: 8/10: We got exceptional service here with the waiter being so nice and mindful to make sure we have the best dining experience. We really appreciate her commitment and effort! The price was on the pricey but it was worth it! But it was still a great deal compared to the United States. We had such a great time there! 📍: 8/10: I loved their design, and the decorations, very modern, simple yet fine dining place! The restaurant's overall atmosphere is one of harmony with nature and modern. I was kinda sad that we couldn't get a table on the first floor because thats where all the performances are and the vibe is very different than the second floor, which is where we were seated! But the performance team later came to the second floor and gave us an outstanding performance! The restaurant's ambiance is peaceful and relaxing, thanks to its lush greenery and natural lighting. We had a great time celebrating her birthday! Loved it!

This is the review you all are looking for. Shout-out to my Brazilians and Americans looking for the best food in Cartagena. Categorical breakdown: Food: 10/10. I have eaten all over the world, both her and I have never had food so damn delicious in a restaurant. Like seriously, it was literally delicious throughout every single bite. Appetizer: I couldn't believe that literally every bite tasted better than the last. It was a constant surprise between the crab, the mussels, the calamari and everything. 10/10. Dinner: The lobster was spectacular. Just when I thought they would mess up the cooking on it. NOPE. Perfect. The medallions, tremendous. The platanos, they were fire!!! THE BEST PART, THE COCONUT RICE WITH THE LOBSTER. I'm not hyping this up, I promise you. 10/10. Dessert: Best ice cream pie combo ever. Coconut pie (which was more like the perfectly warm and moist cake) and mora flavored ice cream (think strawberry like) were an amazing combo. 10/10. Service: Our service was fast, nice, and efficient. No complaints here at all. Atmosphere: Music wasn't overdone, nor was it lacking. The imagery and decorations were clean and well thought out. 10/10. Price: This meal in the US would've pushed around 500 pre tip. I am very happy to report I paid, post tip which was included, 130 roughly for everything. 10/10. Overall: 10/10 meal, service, and atmosphere. I can honestly say, this place turned our week around here.

I do NOT regret choosing this restaurant, which I selected even before arriving in Cartagena. How would I not take my family to his GEM inside the Walled City of the Historic Centre of the Heroic City? I felt like I was submerging myself more into the colonial past of the city than I already was. Because the restaurant is located inside a colonial mansion. I am sure the owners of the house really enjoyed good food back then. Just like we did when we had our lunch there. I started my gastronomic journey with a Picada Caribe (Colombian Caribbean Appetizer) but I did not eat it alone. I shared it with my little cousin. I accompanied my first lovely meal with a native lager beer. Cerveza Águila is worth trying. I didn’t want to eat much because I had a commitment later on that night. After my appetizer, I ate a FILETE DE PESCADO DE LA NEGRA CANDÉ which I accompanied with a rum-based coconut lemonade. Both of them were truly out of this world. For dessert I had COCONUT PIE WITH COROZO ICE CREAM. But I only took about two bites out of it because my grandfather was unable to finish his entree, so I had to finish it for him. I’m a good grandson, gals and guys! But yes, I ABSOLUTELY recommend RESTAURANTE CANDÉ to all nationals and foreigners visiting Cartagena. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary - call to make a reservation (online), every dish is amazing, very clean, seafood! Originally this was not on my radar for places to eat but after meeting multiple locals it became a place I couldn't miss. We made our reservation for 9pm, however, I recommend 7:30 or 8 as the atmosphere is a little more alive, but if you want more quite than 9 is the time. This is a place for couples, small parties or even larger 10 plus parties, but again make that reservation. One big perk was being able to make a reservation through Google maps rather than calling. You will not be disappointed in the choice of food as they have a variety but I do recommend sticking to a sea food dish. Check out their menu and you will see that the prices are very reasonable for the high quality, roughly 58-68,000 for a main. Drinks where on the spendy side but again the quality is well worth getting a higher end cocktail. Don't hesitate, if you need a romantic night with your partner or taking friends out for a classy dinner, this is your place. I was also impressed when they presented a white Rose to all the women for national women's day.

Came here for my birthday dinner, while we were in Cartagena. This is a nice restaurant within the Walled City. First, make your reservations in advance, or you won't get in. Second, they do live music on the first floor. The first floor felt great, the second floor was very hot, as the restaurant is open air up top in the middle. We originally got sat upstairs, despite seeing open tables downstairs. Perplexing. Then ten minutes later, they moved us back downstairs. For starters, we had the yucca patties stuffed with ground beef. I really enjoyed them. Then for entrees, my wife had the steak with yucca, and I had the fish with cheese au gratin, which was served over black coconut rice. That fish with the cheese au gratin was so good! It blended perfectly over the rice. Drinks were good also. I had to take a star off because service was slow, and our server would look us in the eyes, and then tend to other tables right around us. This place is busy every night though, so all the hype you hear is real. There were many groups having dinner here that seemed to be celebrating something from birthdays to anniversaries.
