El Correo Carne y Vino — Restaurant in Medellín

I do not speak Spanish very well, but I tried my best. I have been taking Spanish classes and feel confident that he understood what I wanted. I ordered the baby beef asking if it was thick. The server told me to order the blackened, and it would be thick when I received my food, it looks like a skirt steak Which, of course is a less expensive piece of meat.. It was very thin and did not have the texture of the baby beef. (I know my cuts of meat. I ordered the vegetables for my side, and they came barely cooked with no sear. My glasses of wine which were not very large or specific, were about $6.50 each in US dollars which may not have been a problem, if all else had been a good experience. When I received my bill, it already had the tip applied. I was not very happy with the service The place itself was nice with dim lighting...

We went there last week for my mom's birthday. The overall experience was good but there were a few problems which should be accounted for considering the price of everything in the menu:

The place is beautiful. It has a good vibe between casual and elegant.

The service was ok. It was very slow. And they never brought some of the beers that were ordered. But the servers were kind even though they forgot some stuff.

The empanadas were delicious. Half of the people were very happy with their selections. One of the meets "punta de anca" was not cook as desired, it was hard and chewy. The vegetarian salad was terrible and dissapointing for a plate that had one raw mushroom and one chopped asparagus. It was kind of sad... I recommend taken out of the menu or edit the salad with cooked vegetables in more...

While ordering from a Spanish menu was challenging, and the cuts of steak and size were not described, the steaks we ordered were amazing - tender and cooked to perfection. The menu is very extensive, with many seafood options. With two bottles of wine, beer and an appetizer, the price was very affordable. The staff was excellent and patient with our very basic Spanish skills. This restaurant could be described as fine dining. The atmosphere was relaxed, with a covered open-air experience.
