The bartender that I i had most of my beer suggestions were from Nicole, she had great suggestions on what beer to try and it all came with good service.
Other bartender (I'm pretty sure his name was Alemendro) was quite arrogant and rude. I asked for his suggestions for a beer excluding the beers I had already tried, he suggested the 1st beer I had when I got here even though I had already told him I had tried that (a very nice beer none the less but I wasn't there to try the same beer when I had 21 to choose from). I said I had already had that and asked what else & he recommended the exact same beer. I was here during happy hour, I had already tried 3 different beers, it was close to it finishing when I asked him for another beer 'stating that I wanted it before happy hour hour finished'. It took several minutes for him to pour it so I said to him again that I wanted to beat happy hour finishing and then he poured it. When I recieved the bill, that beer was not included in happy hour and he told me I had ordered it outside of happy hour and I explained that I had asked for it twice while happy hour was on and he said that I never asked about having it during happy hour. Then he remarked that it was only a dollar difference... for me it wasn't about the money, it was about the service and treatment I recieved! Lucky for me that when I mentioned this to my 1st bartender 'Nicole', she was very apologetic on his behalf and had the manager oversee it and he was also very apologetic and deducted the beer from my bill. This is standard hospitality customer service, but as I said, it wasn't about the money.. it's about the service which is part of the experience.
I still give this place 5 stars as everything else was fantastic and that it was dealt...
Read moreThe setting itself and the band were really good, the place looked nice and had a vibrant atmosphere. Our food took about 45 minutes for the appetizer and an hour+ for the main but it was busy and we weren’t in a rush, it’s vacation, so no complaints there. The food itself didn’t blow my hair back though - we started with guacamole which, to be fair, I didn’t read the details of on the menu - it was a suggestion from the server after we ordered mains and sometimes I like to go a little crazy so I said yes, treat yo self. When it came out it had some odd type of vegetable chip instead of tortilla - again, I hadn’t read the menu so that’s on me but I thought it was an interesting choice for a guacamole dipping format - broke pretty easily and not much flavour. The guacamole itself seemed more like an avocado mash, it seems like they may have forgotten the cilantro, lime juice, garlic and salt.. and not just that but they may have even developed a chemical process to remove the avocado taste from the avocados.. maybe a Nobel prize for this. I felt like I had been smoking for 20 years and lost my tastebuds.. but I don’t smoke. After that I had the spinach stuffed chicken and my partner had a vegan rice bowl. These were fine.. again I questioned if they had any salt in the kitchen as it almost had negative flavour, and the rice was a bit undercooked and tasted bland enough that it might be an accountant as it’s day job. My partners bowl was a similar experience. Overall, cool place.. food was a bit overpriced when It had the flavour...
Read moreFrom my friends neice’s recommendation, we came to Green Room for a vegetarian lunch. This restaurant serves a full menu with vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options available. We were met immediately and had been informed that there was quite a wait because they were unloading stock and we’re running about 40 minutes behind, this was not of j concern. It’s very hot today, so we sat outside with the fan and fairly quickly got to order drinks and fresh guacamole. When it came time to order meals, I asked if there was a recommendation before I ordered, suspecting I was gonna get the mushroom melt but was directed towards the vegan bowl or the vegan burger. Neither of those entice me so I went with my original thought. The server had no feedback, just saying that the other two were ordered more frequently. My friend thoroughly enjoyed his tuna and salad, though the watermelon water was made early in the day, being fairly watered down. I basically ate a grilled onion melt with a sprinkle of mushrooms and a piece of shredded mozzarella hiding between the bread. The onions were good, but that’s not what I was intending on ordering. Also, I tried the Green Room Mai Tai, and while it was a nice idea, it had very little liquor noticeable and was more of a water down green tea. Might try some other menu items again, but the service was not great, long weights with no site of servers, and they were obviously waiting for a very large group to come in because they disappeared completely once that...
