Don't come here unless you want to want to support a business who doesn't value their customers. To add some context we came to eat here after a long day of adventuring. My mom asked for trout and the man brought her salmon. She explained what he gave her was salmon. The man took it back and brought uncooked salmon (pink) and told her it was "trout" as though to prove her wrong. As he continued to try to make her believe the salmon was "trout" the cook in the back was laughing the whole time. Since my mom was going back and forth with him letting him know he was mistaken, he got fed up and impatient and kicked us out. He even had the audacity to give us the check to pay for food we had not even touched yet so obviously we didn't pay. I don't understand how it got so hostile so quickly. At this point we are all very offended and the manager walks out due to all the commotion. As we explain to the manager the situation he sees the uncooked salmon in the waiters hand and says "trout is white" confirming the waiter was just messing with us and thought we wouldn't notice or say anything because were women. Maybe the waiter didn't have trout available and thought we wouldn't notice. Maybe it was an innocent mistake. I can see that being a possibility, but i don't understand how you just kick people out because you don't want to deal with it. He could have easily fixed the situation by asking to change the plate for her. It doesn't matter who is right or who is wrong what matters is how you treat people. From the very beginning when we arrived and sat down the waiter had an ugly attitude. It's a shame the manager allowed the waiter to treat us this way and allowed...
Read moreBomb as "F"!! Like the young people say... The vibe, the staff, the service, the food, THE MANAGEMENT. Top notch. Our bartender was David. He was over and above top notch customer service. Patient, made suggestions, took time, to explain everything as best he could and did nothing but deliver all day. We arrived at 1:30p and left after 4:30p. Unintended, but so easy. My Spanish is so-so. My wife had barely any, and we were like old cousins with all the staff and David. I apologize now because I got a little tipsy I forgot the name of the other staff member that befriended us. "Lo Siento, mí amigo." Also we met the Jefe, the owner. Middle aged handsome man that treated us with great respect and made us feel at home. Before we left he bought me a snifter of a beautiful 30 year Rum. Ron Centenario!! With Cocoa nibs, and fresh orange slices on a plate. Gorgeous...Best experience. If you are EVER in La Fortuna, Costa Rica Go to Nanku and say hi to my family. Tell them (Especially David) "DJ Richie Rich," sent you. PURA VIDA. Rich and Joy...
Read moreI went with a large group of 16 people as we were all travelling around Costa Rica together in January 2020. The restaurant was booked in advance by our tour guide and it did not disappoint. After visiting many restaurants across Costa Rica throughout my ten-day stay - this restaurant is good value for money. My seafood Soup starter in particular, was outstanding. The mojito cocktail was good too - my only slight disappointment was the small portion I got for dessert - however I was very impressed by the fancy flower on the plate that was made from some kind of icing or food gel. At first I thought it was the pattern on the plate but it wasn't 😁 considering how busy the restaurant was and the size of our group - the staff did very well to look after us - the orders must have been complicated as each of us had three courses and drinks all on separate bills for each of the 16 individuals and from what I understand there where no discrepancies with any of the bills at the end of the evening. Definitely...
