Restaurante La Parada — Restaurant in La Fortuna

Pass on this one - there are better options in La Fortuna. We ordered fruit plate, the fruit was fresh but they did a horrible job of picking it out, so the normal delicious fruit we expected wasn't even close to par. We ordered a pizza, the crust was from a package not made fresh, cooked in a pan not a wood fired stove, and all the toppings (mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, ham) and sauce were from a can.. The cheese was good, but doesn't even come close to making up for it as a whole. I literally ended up feeding most of the pizza to the dog that hangs out in the restaurant. Not kidding, $20 for a medium.. Dog looked semi-happy but gave me a few resentful stares while chowing down.. The iced coffee was OK, and the service was pleasant and quick, but I wouldn't come here again and I wouldn't recommend. Definitely better options than this for...

I cannot really recommend this place, I didn't try the food but the only alcoholic I had felt more like a smoothie than a "margarita", I didn't feel the alcohol at all, on top of that, the waiter never came back to see if we want something else, she just disappeared, we had to call her to bring us the bill. Another interesting thing that happened while we were there, we saw a guy really mad leaving his table because his burger was served with the cheese still wrapped up in a plastic, after that and the bad service we decided not to...

It's a really nicely decorated restaurant with friendly, polite staff.

We had a couple of cocktails while choosing our food (Caiparinhas - they were goooood), then chose the chicken tacos and shrimp tacos (with a glass of wine each).

The food was delicious - I think the chicken tacos were marginally better than the shrimp tacos (but it's a very close thing).

If we'd had longer in La Fortuna, we would definitely have gone back to this place....would...
