Very long time ago before Covid I used to come to the restaurant occasionally, and never had problems parking even though there are but four to five parking places max. Why ? Because the place was never that popular. However during one visit I realised staff was rude and disrespectful, in a passive aggressive way, even to a paying guest, so I did not visit again.
In the last year or so I ordered once from the restaurant via Glovo or Wolt. The portion (duck) was atrociously small, the price was over 17Eur, the cut up duck was packaged in the small box with a bit of rice, it was so miserable, so I felt ripped off and left a bad review.
Still, on a spur today, I decided to visit the restaurant again after a very long time, thinking that maybe hopefully they would not rip off visiting customers as they do the takeaway customers via Glovo/Wolt. I arrived at the parking and parked. There beside a minivan was a proprietor of the restaurant whom I saw look at me sternly with a look of disapproval and he shook his head as if to say 'no we are not working today'. And indeed, I would have been the only guest if they had. So I lowered the window and asked if they were open. The answer was yes but apparently he did not like how I parked. I said OK and re-parked and mind you I happen to be a good driver. He still complained and even complained that I 'stepped on his parking barrier' and apparently my parking was not good enough, he lost a parking spot because of it (this was not true IMHO). So I lost patience and said to him that he is about to lose two places instead, then reversed to leave. After he said something to me about again driving over his little parking barrier that was laid down on the pavement, even as I reversed, I snapped at him and finally left.
My impression: Proprietor is himself very disrespectful to his host country in which he is an immigrant, and to his paying and would-be paying guests. No manners, rude and overbearing, feels and thinks he can behave how he wants. As for the food and the service, I have described from recent past experience that I was ripped off with take-away. Not only is he disrespectful but obviously dishonest too.
I do not know what I was thinking visiting the restaurant for another rip-off, but thankfully the proprietor showed his true colours and culture and prevented me from spending money there. Thanks for saving me money and time, I just wish I could have told him everything I think about the disrespectful culture he obviously represents. Maybe this is the Chinese culture or maybe it is not, I do not know as I have not been to China. But he did come...
Read moreCroatia is far away from China and I am aware of the fact that all Chinese restaurants in Europe or elsewhere (including this one in Zagreb) have to slightly adjust their recipes to make "the domestic population" like it better, but I sincerely hope this what I ate was indeed representative of Chinese traditional cooking (I can only compare with one experience in China Town in London, where I had the best duck ever, but that was a unique experience). I loved the fried duck here too, with sweet and sour sauce, the spring rolls were very good, the noodles were excellent. Baked icecream was really nice. We switched plates a bit, so I tried several dishes and liked all of them. Btw, the portions were indeed plentiful, so we even took a doggy bag home. It is not maybe cheap, but it is good value for money. It was not too crowded when we came (afternoon, after work) and the service was quick, professional and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Chinese/Asian gastronomy, but also to people who haven't tried anything like it - I think they...
Read more🟡Slightly more expensive than other Chinese restaurants. 🟢Food is prepared quickly, so the waiting is minimal. 🟡Portions are slightly smaller than in some other Chinese restaurants (like Tien-Tan) so that's a minus if you are hungry. 🟡Food is also not as good compared to other Chinese restaurants. 🟢They have their own free parking which is great. 🟡Service is good, although waiters were young and inexperienced and they had trouble explaining some of the meals from the menu. 🟢During workday it's pretty busy and finding a table can be a problem, but after work there's barely anyone inside. 🟢They have great takeout! They have daily menus and for 7€, you get a great and tasty prepared meal with good quantity. So if you work in nearby building and like chinese food be sure to order and try what they offer! ➡️ Not sure if I would recommend, if you want Chinese food try some of the other...
