Terrible. Single handedly and objectively the worst hotel stay ever. Surprisingly two of life's greatest mysteries aren't how the universe functions so perfectly, and how Tottenham after spending so much money continue to disappoint their fans and win absolutely nothing.. Instead these mysteries are a lot closer to home; firstly, how can this hotel hold a "5-star" rating and how on earth does Hilton allow this mismanaged catastrophe to bear the Hilton name. My first impression walking into this 1-star, sorry, I mean "5-star" hotel was seeing a very long queue of tired, impatient and agitated soon-to-be guests waiting to check-in. Dang, I muttered under my breath as I joined the back of the line (almost inside the restaurant at this stage!). After adding an additional 1 hour 2 minutes and 57 seconds to my travel time (yes, I timed it) I finally received "a" keycard... A single card for two people... Obviously when I went out by myself it didn't take long to realise I couldn't get back to my floor. So I went and told reception I only received one card expecting to hear "oh sorry about that, let me get one for you now". Oh but no, this is the Hilton Balkan edition... So instead I got a dismissive "that's what we normally do". It was almost like an Ange Postecoglou press conference "that's who we are, mate". Anyway, I digress... So back to when I received the keycard. I go to the elevator happy to finally be able to drop off my bags, shower and put their incompetence behind me. Only to get to my floor which ENTIRELY smelt like weed.. fantastic. I walk through that stench to my tiny room which was at best ok. It's literally a budget hotel room with an inflated price. But anyway it is what it is. The room was super stuffy and hot. Very uncomfortable condtions. So I thought logically... I'll turn the air-conditioning on, right? It's not like I'm complaining because my room was too hot and stuffy when I walked in. I'm complaining because they ONLY have heating at this time of year! You literally cannot cool the room without opening the window - and that tiny window doesn't do much either! So here I am in the 200eur a night sauna. Whatever, at least the shower's big and looks decent, I'll go and enjoy that. WHY did I even for a minute think this was going to be any different, any better?! The shower had two settings. The first was BOILING HOT WATER, the second was like AN ICE BATH (kind of like Cole Palmer taking a penalty, very chilled). I had to be a tactican like Pep Guardiola pre-2024/25 navigating the controls. You know, I was in McDonalds the other day. They got my order wrong. No big deal. You know what they did, they offered me a complimentary drink and free food. Very nice of them! I didn't accept because it's really not an issue and they were kind and professional. Anyway, I can't be bothered writing anymore. I really hope this review helps future guests and gives management the motivation they so desparately need to step up their game and drastically improve. It's clear to me they're being carried by the Hilton name and reputation because there's absolutely nothing Hilton about this hotel. This DoubleTree is the Jose Mourinho of the hotel world. Lots of ego and talk but almost no results. There's also a lot more like not having a manager/decision maker present, etc. But like I said, I can't be bothered they've wasted enough of my time and now I'm going to enjoy my holiday. Much like Croatia did in the semifinals against England in the World Cup😂

I stayed in the suite. My room was very dirty, with spiderwebs and mold in the shower. Some of the lights didn’t work, the light switches were broken, and the bathroom curtains had a yellow stain on them. The iron was sticky and ended up ruining my girlfriend’s dress. The room was also extremely hot because the suite is so large that the AC couldn’t effectively cool the entire space, causing it to get hotter as the day went on. When I informed the manager that the AC either wasn’t working properly or was simply too weak for a room of this size, she told me I should just keep the curtains closed. But what’s the point of having such large windows and high ceilings if you can’t even enjoy them? Additionally, the bathroom didn’t seem to have any outlets suitable for a hairdryer or straightener. The only outlet I found had a plastic cover labeled “shavers only,” which was quite inconvenient. When we first checked into the room, there were plates and glasses left on the floor, which I assume were from the previous guest. Even after going out the next day, the plates and glasses were still there. I noticed that the cleaning team tends to take plates and dirty cutlery out of the rooms and leave them on the floor in the hallway, but they don’t seem to collect them afterward. It wasn’t just my room—other rooms also had trash or dirty dishes left outside. I asked for a partial refund, but the manager told me they couldn’t do that because I had paid in advance. I also couldn’t get an upgrade since I was already in the most expensive room in the hotel. I’m giving it two stars because the staff was genuinely helpful. They tried to clean the dress for free, offered us two complimentary drinks at the bar, and mentioned that if we had a car, they would waive the parking fee. Eventually, we were moved to a new suite, which was much better, but it still had some broken light switches.

I recently stayed at this Hilton property for a 10-night business trip. As a frequent Hilton Honors traveler, I regret to say the experience fell far short of the standards I’ve come to expect from the brand. Rooms: My first room lacked basic amenities: no iron, only one hanger, and an adjacent door to another guest’s room with no soundproofing (conversations were clearly audible). The second room had a broken window that staff could not properly repair, leaving it partially open and uncomfortably cold for two nights. No alternative rooms were available. Business Needs: The absence of a USB-C adapter (essential for my MacBook) and in-room coffee machine was surprising for a business-focused hotel. The instant coffee provided was low-quality, and breakfast coffee was similarly underwhelming (no espresso options). Requests for assistance were met with confusion between reception and room service teams. Breakfast: Food quality was inconsistent—overcooked eggs and bacon were standard. That said, the breakfast waitstaff and morning receptionist were consistently polite and attentive, which I appreciated. Final Thoughts: While the staff’s courtesy stood out, the lack of basic amenities (iron, USB-C adapter), maintenance issues, and inconsistent service made this stay frustrating. For business travelers relying on functionality and comfort, I’d recommend exploring other Hilton options in the area.

We chose this place due to the good reviews, but we are starting to think it may be paid people .

Our driver nicolah was very professional and really kind. His English was very good. The car was comfortable and spacious. When we arrived we were greeted With a fresh warm cookie (not vegan) unfortunately so they gave me an apple to choose from . The apples were not too good to be eaten (had Brown spots ).Nicolina and Josipa were great at the front desk. We upgraded our rooms but the bathroom was very tiny . The room did not feel as if it was an upgrade. We decided to try the restaurant out-bad decision . Sarah was our waitress . It felt as if the restaurant was missing waiters to serve as we had to wait about 5 Min to get a menu but Sarah was very kind . It was disappointing to see that they didn't have any vegan options that would compromise of a complete meal rather they made me make meals out of their sides. The only meal that was complete that could be the curry kokoma but was not feeling in the mood for that. We recieved our meals and were dissatisfied. I told Sarah I was vegan and the salad that I ordered came with feta cheese on top , they sent it back just to have them pick off the cheese and there were still remains of cheese on the salad. My parents ordered beef carpaccio ,blank Angus flank(as there was no hanger) and a black Angus beef burger. I ordered rice, vegetables and mushrooms, with fries after. The beef carpaccio was frozen with no seasoning, proceeding to ask Sarah for a lemon wedge which took about 5-7minutes to get it. The burger was asked medium and was gotten rare and still bleeding in which one waiter came to our table stating that was normal that ita supposed to bleed at rare. We sent it back to wait another 15 minutes. The flank was almost blue, went asked for medium rare. The vegetables and rice were full of butter and oil which felt disgusting . It was too overwhelming . There was no seasoning in any of our foods , to the exception of the burger when it came back cooked properly. The fries tasted as if the oil wad rancid. Overall it was a terrible experience and we did let Sarah know but it seems as if the chefs did not care. My parents were compensated with 2 glasses of watered down rum . The next day we tried to have a nice breakfast but were welcomed with food that was very underseasoned. They served the same food for our whole stay and on our last day the chef did not seem interested in making eggs and almost shoved the plate back when giving the eggs , whilst walking away(someone behind my father was waiting for eggs). The pears and apples at breakfast were underripe. The room had a few faults and the shower button came pushing out and fell to the floor. The gym is not 24/7 which is a shame to put hours on a gym when many people have different hours. We wrote to the Hilton in regards to our issue with the restaurant but were pushed aside saying that management would talk to us (which they didn't) and then proceeded to send an emailing thanking us for advising them , yet that didn't solve our bad experience. On our last night we went to the bar to have coffee and a dessert. Matej was our waiter. He was very kind and quick for service. My mother ordered the apple tartin which was horrendous -do not get this. We even asked matej to try it as we couldn't believe how disgusting this was. The dough was raw and the mouse tasted like shaving cream. Matej refused - all in all . We would not return here. It definitely did NOT feel like a Hilton, many lower class hotels serve better food and service then they did during our stay. We can say we are extremely disappointed. I would suggest maybe trying the other Hilton, but...

Our stay at Hilton was good overall. Although it’s not near the centre; trams and buses or reasonably priced taxis will take you there. Nevertheless there is a little shopping centre about a ten minute walk away with a large supermarket and other useful shops. The staff at the hotel were really friendly (especially the room cleaners) and helpful. The room was lovely and big for us a family of three (2 adults and a 15 year old boy). It was equipped with a mini fridge, kettle, iron, safe etc. The bathroom had both a tub on one side and walk in shower on the other. Although the water would go hot and cold we still preferred the shower as wasn’t too much of a problem. Each floor had an ice machine although each one wasn’t working. We were on the 9th floor and had to go in search to other floors. But the ice was a life saver! We didn’t think the air conditioning was very effective especially at night as the position of it was nowhere near the beds and you couldn’t open any windows. On the first two days (Thursday and Friday) the breakfast was amazing (something for everyone) but when the ‘main chef’ disappeared for his long weekend the breakfast fell well below standards (many items missing) right until the main chef returned on Tuesday. Also another very irritating thing was that the staff would keep taking your dish before you’d finish. Annoying as the cutlery would go with it! On Wednesday we had an early flight and were able to request a take away breakfast. It was a very good breakfast with water, juice,2 fruits, 2 types of sandwich filling, yoghurt and chocolate. Finally the hotel had a very small gym, swimming pool and jacuzzi on the 10th floor. So apart from the breakfast on those few days and the poorly positioned air conditioning in the rooms our stay was great. Unless they improve the air conditioning I will never return as it’s essential for a very hot country plus the location was a bit far from the town centre...
