Before I go onto the Hotel review, I would like to confirm that this review is based on my personal experience.||First beware of taxi driver overcharging you. ensure you know how much to pay and agree before going into a taxi. Almost got scammed (is the right word).||Taxi from Zagreb airport to Zagreb bus station is around 45 EUR.||Decided to use the bus shuttle which cost 9EUR (or there about) and was a very comfortable ride to Zagreb city centre bus station.||When I got to zagreb bus station, was going to take a taxi to the Hilton Garden Inn which is a mere 5mins drive, driver was charging me 45EUR so told them where to stick it. got myself an UBER which cost me around 5EUR, and have been using UBER throughout my stay, but mostly walked.|||This is a 4-star hotel, so expect a 4-star level of service throughout. That’s all I’ll say about that.||The location is a bit of a trek—about a 30-minute walk to the main square. I didn’t mind, as I needed the exercise, but if walking isn't your thing, you might find it a bit much.||Now, on to the positives: a few exceptional staff members truly made my stay worthwhile. Their customer service was so outstanding, it made up for any shortcomings the hotel might have.||- MarieJana (Reception): Absolutely delightful. She knows how to read the room, adjust to each guest’s pace, and welcome you warmly. I had just arrived from a long flight (up since 4:00 AM), and she was incredibly sweet and patient with me.||- Sarah (Restaurant Manager): A gem. She looked after me so well, always making sure I was happy—not just with the food, but with everything. Her customer service is top-tier. Kudos to her!||- Mary Grace (Housekeeping): She goes above and beyond. I actually requested her specifically to clean my room whenever possible because she did such a great job. Coming back to a clean, well-organized room every evening really made a difference.||Would I stay here again or recommend it? |With hesitation—yes. And mainly because of these few individuals who clearly take pride in their work. That said, one older lady in the restaurant could really benefit from customer service training. Her communication skills left a lot...
Read moreIn terms of interior design, the hotel is really pretty. Rooms are beautifully designed and everything is logically set. The lobby area and especially the restaurant are beautiful. I enjoyed the continental breakfast there although there have often been trays for various cuts or dishes that got emptied and were not refilled. The staff everywhere are really pleasant, professional and of service but they seemed sometimes confused so for example when we arrived for check in, they could not confirm that the cost of our stay had previously been covered until someone higher ranking confirmed it. They validated my parking card but it got rejected twice - once when I went in and on the last day after we checked out. We arrived in the evening but in front of our room there had been a food trolley with the leftovers of previous guests' meals that remained there until the afternoon the next day. Our room was nice but we couldn't turn the AC on because the noise of the fans was too loud. Luckily we could open our window. The sound proofing was poor because we could hear anyone talking and passing next to our room doors. The bed was extremely creaky and incredibly uncomfortable, which is a lot coming from me because I've really slept in all kinds of old, cheap and shady places all over Europe and Croatia for that matter. I like a hard mattress but this was like sleeping on a slab of concrete. They will charge you for using the hotel's underground parking although you are a guest of the hotel - an emerging practice among hotels that I am not a fan of. You have complimentary internet in your room but if you want anything better than the crawling speed of 5-10 mbit/s, you need to pay around 14€/day. All in all, a mixed bag of experiences and emotions. Is it good value for money? Eh, I'm not sure. Does it offer luxuries that would justify the prices and illogical additional charges? Not sure of that either. Coffee's...
Read moreOur stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Zagreb was simply perfect from start to finish. Every aspect of our experience exceeded our expectations, leaving us completely satisfied.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of our room was exceptional. The housekeeping staff did an outstanding job of ensuring that the room was spotless and well-maintained throughout our stay. It was a pleasure returning to a fresh and tidy room each day.
The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and satisfying. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasty offerings that were provided. However, after a few days, we would have appreciated a bit more variety in the buffet selection. Nevertheless, the quality of the food was excellent and left us feeling energized for the day ahead.
What impressed us the most was how well the hotel accommodated my girlfriend's celiac disease. The staff took extra care to ensure that she had safe and suitable options at breakfast and in the restaurant. They were knowledgeable about her dietary needs and went above and beyond to make her dining experience enjoyable. We truly appreciated their attention to detail and understanding.
Moreover, the hospitality and warmth extended to us by the staff at Hilton Garden Inn Zagreb were outstanding. From the moment we arrived until our departure, every member of the team made us feel welcome and valued as guests. Their genuine kindness and professionalism enhanced our stay and made it truly memorable.
Overall, we had an incredible experience at the Hilton Garden Inn in Zagreb. The super clean room, tasty breakfast, and exceptional service surpassed our expectations. Although we wished for more variety in the breakfast buffet, the hotel's attention to dietary restrictions was commendable. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zagreb and look forward to returning ourselves. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay...
