Taverna Loggia — Restaurant in Dubrovnik

We had a dinner and even though we had no reservation we had no issued to find a table. We decided to went with the catch of the day. It was a beautiful sea bream, approximately 1kg of weight. The area outside was very nice but suddenly, the owner decided to close the roof with a plastic tent that killed the atmosphere and having people smoking all around was not even the best for this reason. The main problem happened with the huge wait. Even though there were no more than 5/6 tables, we waited more than 40min to get the fish, while the wine I ordered became really warm. When the fish arrived, the waiter tried to prepare the fillet but was visible in difficulties and left quite a bit of fish on the waste plate (what a waste). I asked to the owner if it was possible to change the glass of wine that was untouched, due to the long wait and he just brought a new glass and poured the old wine in it...... Of course he charged for two glasses. The food was very tasty nonetheless and the price we paid was in line with the average price in Dubrovnik but with little bit more attention, the rate would be...

When asked for tap water on a hot sunny day, the waiter lied that Dubrovnik tap water is not recommended. 🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥

We’ve been staying for two weeks in Croatia and actually WE KNOW/everyone recommended tap water, as well as Croatia. Gov website. So we ordered coffee instead. The waiter did not offer us any water in the end, and we did not bother asking again. We went to the supermarket next door and bought a huge bottle of voda 🙂

Because of this, we ordered minimal food and cannot wait to get out of here. 🏃🏻 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♀️

To the waiter who smiled but actually looked down on us, also brought out another waiter to look at us, and actually laughed at us, we can spend, but we CHOSE not to spend on you. We actually spend more than we’d like on this service. Think he should take some waiter 101 lesson - Don’t lie and Respect your customers.

We actually wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t Sunday and most restaurants are closed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Lunch here was one of the highlights of our trip. We scooted down here from Lapad, just up the road. We found this place by chance and having seen that it had good reviews, decided to go for it. It matched up to its reputation. Great service and the food was fantastic and phenomenally good value. We decided to share three appetisers between the two of us. Octopus salad, beef carpaccio and ravioli in cheese truffle sauce. We loved all three. Perfectly seasoned, simple dishes but really well executed. The octopus was soft and the dressing was light and not too vinegary - I had octopus every day of our trip and this was the best by far. The beef was like butter. The pasta was excellently made and just the perfect amount of truffle. The cheese sauce was to die for. All served in a quiet, shady garden type terrace, secluded from the noise of the port.
