We had a pretty bad experience with this company. Despite the amazing locations and weather, a lot of things went wrong

When we booked our full day trip around the islands near Hvar, we were promised a large boat (Enzo 35) big enough to comfortably hold twelve people. When we arrived to the dock on the day, we immediately saw that the boat was instead the smaller inflatable raft (Emozioni 26) We were too late to withdraw from the tour as it was our last day and we didn’t have enough time to book with other companies.

On the way to our first location, our group of 10 was all cramped together in the back for 30 minutes. Even though our captain (Stipe??) looked very confident and reliable in terms of driving the boat, he was not very invested with his hospitality role, and it looked like he had better things to do. He didn’t give us a rundown of the tour until we asked an hour into the trip. At the green cave we waited for the other hosts to have their tour for half an hour (acceptable). Then he said there was a 2 hours queue for the Blue cave and if anyone wanted to go we should have to accept the wait. 5 people decided to go anyway.

At the blue cave he basically dumped us on an island and left with the boat the whole time. We had timidly asked him to take us somewhere with the boat while the others went in the cave, but he said no. We even had to run up and give him our numbers otherwise he would have no way to contact us at the end of the wait.

We stayed from 12 pm to 2pm (the best part of the day) on a small ordinary beach and then at a shack which ONLY served ham and cheese toasties, waiting for the others.

We were robbed of the best hours of the day for swimming because a few of the people in our group wanted to visit the blue cave despite the huge wait.

The girl at the stand the day before did inform us that, if we did not want to visit the caves, we would have probably needed to wait a few minutes for the others, not about the possibility to have to wait for up to 2 hours. We eventually moved on to another location There the captain left the boat while the group was swimming and swam up to the beach and left us on the boat which we had to pull forward because it was hitting another boat behind us. There was not even a solid ladder to go back on board after swimming, just a rope one.

We eventually arrived at the beautiful bay with the restaurant which we were supposed to eat out for lunch. We got there at 4pm.

We completely understand that sometimes the wait time for tourist attractions is longer on some days, but our captain could’ve very well improvised and taken half of the tour which was not visiting the caves somewhere nice to swim instead of stranding us on a random island for two hours. The trip costed €210 (they asked us to pay cash in order to make us a $10 discount) for me, my daughter and my wife. The captain didn’t even drop us off at the right port at the end . He said he couldn’t take us there because it was too busy, but we soon found out walking there, it was not at all. He possibly had his own business to go to. When we went back up to the secretary to complain about these various things she initially apologised and felt bad for our wasted day. She said to come back later for a partial refund (even if we just wanted to get an apology) because she agreed that she promised us a different boat and was confused on the captain’s behaviour, but the owner of the business called her and told her she was not allowed to give us any money back for no reason. We were completely neglected as customers. Such a shame that the entire tour stole our last well earned bit of time on this...

Good people to deal with, friendly, very helpful and they offer suggestions on where to go depending on what you like to do and the size of the boat you are renting. The boats vary in size and horsepower from 4hp up to 200hp. My wife and I arrived in Havr towards the end of the season so the boats looked like they had been very well used and slightly abused. Just damaged gel coat, torn or cracked upholstery, broken hatch covers and dirty foot prints. Bearing in mind I am a very fastidious small boat owner myself (slightly ocd, my wife would say completely ocd 😂) and I am constantly looking for faults. However I couldn’t fault the safety of our Fisher 17 with 60hp Honda four stroke outboard engine. It performed faultlessly on the two days we had it. We certainly put it to good use and may have explored a fair bit more territory than recommend. Havr waters are very safe for boating and swimming. The two weeks we spent on or near the water delivered us blue skies, gentle winds and very slight seas, but as always check the forecast before you leave and plan your trip. A Magical Day on the Adriatic – An Absolute Must in Hvar!

Our Blue Cave tour with Mario Rent was nothing short of incredible, truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of our time in Croatia.
