Agrippina Street Food – Pula Review
I’d been walking past Agrippina the last few days and noticed it wasn’t super busy. Granted, it’s May (off-season), and I’ve heard the classic Europe travel advice: “Don’t eat on the main tourist street.” But I was in a pinch, hungry, and decided to give it a shot—and I’m really glad I did.
First off, the vibe was solid. It was about 1 PM, not too hot, and the shaded seating made it really comfortable. The music was chill, the server greeted me enthusiastically, and service was fast—even though I was the only customer at the time (most people around were eating ice cream and probably finishing lunch).
The Food:
I ordered the Hera tuna burger—a tuna steak on a black brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, and a killer wasabi mayo. It was the typical wasabi punch-you-in-the-face spicy in the best way. Not too much but just enough to shed a tear of joy and feel the wasabi in your nose sort of thing. It gave the whole burger real character.
Now, the burger itself was juicy—like, dripping when it arrived (in a very social media way). The tuna was perfectly cooked, medium rare, and super moist. The bun was ultra-soft, which made it a bit hard to eat without it falling apart—but the flavor was worth it. Plus, they gave me a sanitizing hand wipe, which was a surprisingly thoughtful touch and made the mess nbd.
Fries Worth Mentioning:
I swapped out regular fries for sweet potato fries, and holy f**k—they were incredible. As someone who cooks, I know how hard it is to make sweet potato fries crispy. These had a solid outer crunch, probably thanks to a light batter. They held their shape and texture like classic fries—not the soggy mess you often get elsewhere.
Final Thoughts:
Great vibes, friendly service, and genuinely delicious food. Yeah, the burger was a bit messy, but they thought ahead with that hand wipe, and honestly, I respect that. Easily one of the best tuna burgers I’ve ever had, and those fries...
Read moreWalking into this cozy eatery, you’re hit with the smoky aroma of grilled meat and warm spices—it’s a promise of comfort food done right. The menu is unpretentious, but don’t let that fool you: this place delivers big flavors in humble wrappers.
Tacos: The tacos were a standout. Served on soft, freshly-pressed corn tortillas, each bite was layered with well-seasoned meat (the slow-cooked beef deserves a shoutout), crisp toppings, and just the right touch of heat from the house-made salsa. They’re messy in the best way—juice-dripping, napkin-needing good.
Burgers: The burgers came stacked and juicy, with perfectly toasted brioche buns that held their ground without overpowering the flavor. The patty was cooked medium, as requested, and bursting with smoky umami. Bonus points for crispy lettuce, fresh tomato, and a generous dollop of special sauce. Simple, satisfying, and deeply craveable.
Apple Pie: Just when we thought the meal couldn’t get any better, dessert landed. The apple pie was the kind that feels like a hug from your grandma—flaky, buttery crust with a warm spiced apple filling that wasn’t too sweet. A scoop of vanilla ice cream melting on top made it pure magic.
Final thoughts: This spot nails the balance between indulgent and familiar. Whether you’re craving handheld flavor bombs or a nostalgic dessert, it’s a place worth coming back to. Come hungry, leave happy—and maybe with a slice...
