I find it hard to think of a better location for a hostel in Pula. From our window we could see the captivating Lighting Giants and all Pula's main attractions are a couple of minutes away by foot. ||There is no free parking but there is plenty of parking space around the hostel, is very inexpensive but a bit troublesome (be prepared to obsess over coins!).||We stayed for 2 nights and we could have honestly stayed for way longer there. The room was massive, as well as the private bathroom. We had a big flat screen TV with a lot of channels and a perfectly working AC. It felt kind of unfinished decor wise but that is being nitpicking. ||There is no breakfast included but there is an amazing cafe/bakery just around the corner.||We were greeted by a very charming receptionist that was really willing to help and explained everything that was going on in Pula in a very dynamic way. She was very nervous though and I felt like she was new and didn't get a proper training.||When the check out time came, that became more than obvious. She told us that she had to call her manager in order to take the payment and print the receipt. Then we were informed that they only took cash so we had to go to the closest atm around (that is quite common in Pula so make sure you always have cash with you). We told the lovely receptionist that we were a bit in a rush and couldn't really wait until the manager would be able to come to the hostel. So she called her and over the phone, she managed to do the check out properly. I felt sorry for her as she was so nice and ready to learn. In my opinion it was all the manager's fault for not training the staff.||Despite all the check out chaos, it was a really...
Read moreIf you don't want BED Bugs, don't go there.||When we went to sleep, there were ~10 BED BUGS crawling on the walls. We took a picture of one bed bug that we caught which you can see. We moved to an (upgraded) room but we had to leave our stuff inside the first room. The staff was nice, but actually they didn't know anything about how to treat the bed bugs. They just let us stay in the contaminated room even though they knew it was contaminated. After two days, the pest control came but they put our luggage out of the room when they sprayed their chemicals. When I was home again, I had a living BED BUG inside my suitcase. The pest control came and it cost me 300 EUROS! We paid the full rent at the hostel. They didn't refund me anything and now they are not even replying to my messages anymore. Back home, I had the stress of my life because I was afraid that my whole flat was infected by the bed bugs. Besides the bed bug story, it was also not very clean and quite noisy since the hostel is located directly next to the street. I am very unsatisfied and do absolutely NOT recommend...
Read moreThe staff was very welcoming and nice. They treated us like we were the only one in the hostel while that was defenitely not the case. The private bedroom was more than ok. Nice and tidy comfortable bed/badroom. The only thing I could remark is that there is no common area to chill with other guest, so if you are looking for that that, this hostel might not be the perfect suit for you. However, becauce of that, there is little noise from other guest, just from the big street allocated right near it which can be a bit inconvenient. The price is the one thing that is making me not give it 5 stars. However, I quite understand it considering the ask-demand since we were stupid enough to travel in high season (August). ||p.s. i did read some old reviews. they spend some effort in it to renovate it , even while we were there. Taking that into account a lot of old 'bad' reviews are not that relevant anymore. All the best to the staff...
