Went here based on google reviews about how this is a family owned restaurant. Firstly, it’s a nice quiet location. The owner greeted us immediately and he was extremely friendly. We had small children with us and he was very accommodating. His wife brought colouring books over to keep my daughter occupied and made sure we sat close to the fans so our 8 month old would stay cool. The food, was AMAZING! the best souvlaki I’ve ever had. The halloumi fries were so good I had to order another portion! I absolutely loved how friendly the owners were they really made you feel so welcome. It is family run and even the owners children were cleaning tables. I would go to this restaurant a million times! When we were ready to go he called us a taxi and offered to help get our things to the taxi (push chair etc) I wish I could add photos but once I took the first bite, I didn’t want to waste any time taking pictures as I enjoyed the food that much. Thank you so so much for your hospitality and making us feel so welcome. Best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Thank you again! You need to go to this lovely place if you are...
Read moreWe were really excited to visit this place, but sadly it was a disappointment.
Everything started out great, they served drinks fast - honey wine and lemonade were actually delicious, and it was a live music night. So, we ordered meat Meze for 2 people, and after 15-20 minutes of waiting we already started noticing that people get their orders really slowly. Our first part of meze - just 3 dips, a salad and cold dolmades and pita took them 30(!) minutes to bring out. How long does it actually take to pour some dips and warm up a pita?! The rest of the dishes were stretched for another hour, and after 1,5 hours of waiting we still haven’t gotten to actual meat part of meze!! Outrageous! We were so fed up with all the waiting that we cancelled our order. gladly, they did deduct part of the Meze cost from the bill. But no one apologized for this! They just asked “are you in a hurry?” Really? It was already 22:00 pm and the place is open till 22:30, we’re you going to serve the rest of the dishes at 22:25?
It was a light dinner for us, to...
Read moreBeing here at the end of October, many restaurants had closed for the winter and we actually intended to eat at another place but walked past Kota and were attracted by its local style and quite a few happy looking diners. We wanted to try their honey wine but were sensibly advised this was more of a dessert option so instead had a medium red bottle of their house wine, produced in Crete by their sister winery. It was really tasty and went well with both my husband's choice of moussaka (fresh from the oven) and my vegetarian grill selection. The highlight of the visit was most definitely Kris & his wife who were both incredibly welcoming, sharing the best way to make tzatziki and bringing us a taste of the honey wine at the end of the meal. They only take cash which meant we didn't have much left to buy any of their products but Chris gave us a 100ml bottle of the honey wine that we could take back on the plane. Absolutely lovely food & atmosphere. Highly...
