This is a fabulous hotel with a great pool and restaurants. We were a party of 2 middle aged couples and had planned to go to a different hotel but 18 days before the holiday we were warned that there would be construction work outside and were offered the chance to change to the Napa Plaza. This was more expensive than our first choice but we are so glad we changed. We were all inclusive which meant we had 3 evenings at each of the hotel’s speciality restaurants and 3 at the themed buffet. To be honest the buffet was so good that we only ate at one of the other restaurants and used the buffet for the rest of our stay. We have stayed in many hotels but we all agreed that the beds here were the most comfortable we have known. The air conditioning was excellent and much needed as temperatures at night rarely dropped below 29°. It was also quiet so it was able to be left on all night. We were lucky to be given an upgrade to a pool view room and I recommend paying the bit extra for one of these. The only thing I could suggest as an improvement is to have a separate shower rather than over the bath as it was a bit tricky for someone my age to get in and out. There was plenty of storage and a rail on the balcony for drying swimwear. The pool was wonderful. Plenty of sunbeds which we never had to struggle to find and fresh, thick towels every day. There were also plenty of parasols for even the toughest sun worshippers as temperatures were over 30° every day. One of the good things about adult only hotels is that none of the pool is lost to a shallow end and so there is plenty of room to swim or just chill. The staff frequently walked around the pool offering shots of iced juice and cold flannels and they were always willing to help with moving sun loungers or parasols. The bar at the pool served great cocktails and we usually ate lunch there too. They serve hot food such as burgers, omelettes, fish, pizza but also lovely salads and sandwiches. All the staff were lovely but a particular thank you to Jasmine who treated us like long lost friends and always remembered our names, Debbie, Julie, Mr Greg and Mr Phil. Another good aspect of the service was that the managers themselves were always around checking that things were right. At breakfast there was a woman, didn’t catch her name, who regularly walked around the tables chatting to guests. She wore a dark blue dress with a badge and we think she was the assistant manager. The hotel manager Andra was really helpful to us and it was appreciated that a manager was able to sit and have coffee with us when she was probably very busy. The reason I have taken a star off for location is just because it is right in the heart of the nightlife area and the crowds outside the hotel in the evenings were horrendous. The hotel itself was surprisingly tranquil with no street noise at all. Because of the location we won’t stay here again but that is no reflection on the hotel which...
Read moreDisappointing Experience for Young Travelers at Napa Plaza, Ayia Napa
As a group of young travelers seeking a vibrant and enjoyable holiday experience, our stay at Napa Plaza in Ayia Napa was nothing short of disappointing. From the start, we encountered several issues that ultimately tainted our overall impression of the hotel.
Firstly, the staff's lack of understanding and empathy towards our needs was evident throughout our stay. We had hoped for a warm welcome, but instead, we were met with indifferent attitudes and a general lack of interest in ensuring we had a pleasant stay. Simple requests were often met with reluctance, leaving us feeling neglected and unwelcome.
The level of service we received at Napa Plaza was subpar, at best. Basic amenities and services that should have been readily available were often overlooked or delayed. It seemed as though the staff had little regard for the satisfaction of their younger guests, which is quite surprising considering Ayia Napa's reputation as a popular destination for young people seeking vibrant nightlife and entertainment.
The most infuriating incident during our stay involved a broken table. Accidents can happen, and we took full responsibility for the damage. However, the way the hotel handled the situation was utterly unprofessional. They insisted that we pay for the table, even though it was a simple accident. What's worse is that they claimed in an email that we had offered to pay, which was a complete lie. Such dishonesty only added insult to injury and left a sour taste in our mouths.
While Ayia Napa is known for its lively atmosphere and energetic nightlife, Napa Plaza seemed entirely detached from this aspect of the town. The hotel lacked the energy and ambiance that should accompany such a destination. Instead of catering to the preferences and interests of young travelers, it seemed as though Napa Plaza was more focused on catering to a different demographic.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Napa Plaza to young people looking for an enjoyable and vibrant experience in Ayia Napa. The staff's lack of understanding, poor service, and the dishonest handling of a simple accident left us feeling unwelcome and disheartened. However, it's worth mentioning that the all-inclusive option was a redeeming aspect of our stay, offering good value for money. If you prioritize all-inclusive perks, you might find it more worthwhile. Still, consider alternatives for a more enjoyable overall experience. I advise seeking alternative accommodations that better cater to the preferences and interests of young travelers in this bustling...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience & one that will stay with me for years to come! Where do I begin? Let's start with the first port of call - Check-in. Youre greeted at reception by Mrs. Andri & her exceptional team (Mrs. Vera, & Mrs. Mamia) who set the tone for your stay instantaneously. Upon arrival youre received with a very warm welcome & a refreshing glass of homemade lemonade, giving you your first taste of Cyprus, the island of Love & Citrus to say the least. As a hotel guest, I was made to feel welcome & looked after with a level of professionalism & refinement. My room was spotless & comprised of a very comfortable double bed, a spa-like shower & most importantly a sense of serenity, which was exactly what I needed. Being an adults only hotel, also meant that you're around like minded people who want to share the same experience as you. The hotel facilities were superb! The swimming pool area, inclusive of the pool bar & restaurant were fantastic, the kind of place you could just spend the entirety of the day, lounging in the water with the pool staff ensuring that all your needs were met. Now for the hotel restaurants, cafés & breakfast - absolutely brilliant! I felt spoilt for choice every morning, with a rich spread to satisfy everyone's palette. Be it continental, English breakfast, Mediterranean, nutritional, the lot! There was even a seperate stand where 1 of the chefs made you fresh pancakes & croissants on the spot! The hotel itself also boasts a variety of different cuisines from across the globe & a selection of restaurants, bars and cafés! If you're ever looking to stay in Ayia Napa, then I would highly recommend Napa Plaza Hotel, right in the heart of Ayia Napa itself. I guarantee it won't fail to disappoint. I look forward to booking my next stay there very soon! A huge thank you to all the staff for making it an experience...
