On the 15th of September we visited Red Ruby restaurant in Ayia Napa. Restaurant was not even half full. We ordered spring rolls, mussels in soya sauce and nan bread for starters and sesame king prawns and blue fin tuna (rare) with soya sauce and ginger.
Starters arrived. Spring rolls were ok, mussels sauce was very flat and tasteless and nan bread never arrived. We finished with them and we were waiting for our mains. It took them 40 minutes to bring, after we complained. When the food arrived at the table I said to the waiter that we have been waiting for forty minutes and he just said āI will tell them!!!!ā an apology or professionalism seems not to be in his book.
King prawns were cooked ok served with industrial sauces. As for the blue fin tuna, they had ruined it completely. It was overcooked with out any signs of sautƩing. They basically dipped the raw tuna chunks in the sauce and boiled it together. The sauce was the same sauce from the mussels. It seems that they have one sauce ready, bind with corn flour and they use it in different recipes. The only difference is the veggies with which they finish every recipe.
Allow me give you a piece of advice. First quickly sautĆ© the tuna, add the veggies and sautĆ© together for a moment. Add the soy sauce and the fish stock and reduce. Itās a 2 minute dish and its an amazing dish! Perhaps I could cook it for youā¦
Then the bill arrived, while I was paying the bill, the manager came to investigate my complain. I said to him that he was too late since I complained more than an hour ago. He was asking us for deserts and I told him again that he was too late and that it was the worst 55 euros I spend on food. They even charged us the nan bread which never arrived. I was so upset with everything, I even refused to deduct the nan bread which never came. We left giving the promise to the manager that we will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat can I say, 10/10 for food service and priceā¦the food, I am very fussy about my Indian foods especially curried dishes, I like my curries a certain heat (spice) with extra ingredients if wanted, the chef at Red ruby didnāt disappoint, my chicken jalfrazi was perfectly cooked with big chunks of tenter chicken, the right spices made the heat perfect, perfect peppers, not too hard not too soft, fluffy soft white rice, non greasy chips and great fish pakoras. The garlic naan was beautiful, not thick and doughy but just right with crispy parts and the garlic it was made with was fresh. My wifeās vegetable jalfrazi was just as nice, cooked just the way she liked it, perfect. Pickle tray and poppadoms was all fresh as well, brilliant. The service was 2nd too non, was greeted at the door with a smile and was show to our table we pre booked straight away, drinks was on the table with a couple of minutes of ordering which was a welcome as it was a warm night. All in all 10/10 all round, not one critical word to say about the Red Ruby, we will definitely be coming back before we return to the uk. Great work guys,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been twice there, and to be honest, i would love to go every second day again and again. They have a huge variety of foods like Japanese, Thai, Chinese and Indian all together. We tried some dishes from Indian and Thai and it was absolutely amazing, mind blowing. The service was nothing than exceptional, every member of staff was so so friendly and respectful. The way they synchronized with each other so no one had to wait long, and they brought the food so quickly, i was shocked to be honest of their quality. I would like to give them more than 5 stars but unfortunately that's the maximum. So definitely i recommend Red Ruby, an experience you'll never forget.
In the end i have to give a shoutout to a member of a staff, a tall Sir, white short hair and glasses, which i had to ask him to shake his hands at the end of our dinner because he was absolutely exceptional, friendly, funny and so so well spoken, never in my life seen someone on his quality, hat off to him,...
