We were guests at the Nape Plaza Hotel and booked half board so we could choose between three restaurant to eat each night. One of them is Cafe central.
The food and location are great but unfortunatly the service is TERRIBLE !
The first night we arrived we were seated inside because all tables outside were apparently reserved (when we left they were still empty) ... I assume they sat us inside because we werent dressed overly nicely which is kind of understandable. The first night we are served by which I assume was the manager. He was quite nice and the service was okay.
Unfortunatly the Hostes is the most unfriendly and arrogant person we ever met. The first night she came to our table asking us if we were guest from the hotel ... when we said yes she littarely turned around and simply left without saying anything else ...
The second night we had a reservation for dinner when we arrived the hostes gave us the worst table in the entire Restaurant ... Directly at the entrance, next to the Hookah preparing station and directly infront of the biggest fan I have ever seen in my entire life. Before sitting down we kindly asked if we could sit at on of the many other free tables ... she rolled her eyes and replied: "NO THEY ARE ALL RESERVED" ... well we had a reservation as well we thought but sat down without asking again.
Unfortunatly it was unbearable to sit there...it was freezing next to the huge fan und the smell of several hookah flavers was not nice during eating a meal.... We kindly asked another server to turn off the fan, which she did ... unfortunatly the Hostes turned the Fan back on again after 5 minutes ... We again kindly asked for another table...They didn't even acknowledge the question this time...
In addition the service there is very slow ... there are no sections it seems and we were served by everly single waiter that night ...
The next time we had a table booked at Cafe Central through the hotel we went in the restaurant during lunch time to make sure we could reserve a spesific table. We spoke to a very friendly waitress to make sure we would get a better table in the evening. We chose a table and she wrote everything down for the hostess during the dinner shift. When we arrived for dinner the unfriendly Hostess AGAIN wanted to seat us at the same table as the last time. When we asked for another table she refused. We simply went to that booked table and told here that we specificly asked for this table earlier. She accepted this time and let us sit there.
This was the final time we went to cafe central. We even ate two nights in a row at the neighbor Restaurant Sal e Pepe because the Service there is simply OUTSTANDING. They are all so friendly and so nice! Eventhough we actually liked the food of Cafe Central a bit better we preffered the other place!
Maybe they staff should work on a better system on serving more efficiantly and faster. It would also be nice if Hotel Guests would be treaten a bit more friendly and not only focus on local people.
A place with great potential !! Unfortunatly worst service I ever...
Read moreDespite nearly breaking a tooth on a stone in my lentils on our second visit, we had a great experience here. We ate here because of the vegan menu and the great reviews... and it didn't disappoint. First visit we had the beetroot burger and the dolmades which were super yummy.. we were very impressed with the size, taste, variety, presentation... and the prices are so reasonable. We went back for lunch today and ordered a taco bowl and black bean noodles. The noodles were nice. Unfortunately, the taco bowl was not great, although the avocado looked fresh, it tasted off and just as I decided I didn't want to eat anymore of my meal, I chomped on something very hard which hurt my tooth which ended up being a little stone. As someone eats mostly natural food, I totally understand both of these things were out of the chefs control (avocados can be deceiving and lentils sometimes have bits of earth with them!). But the chef herself came our to our table to personally apologise, offered another meal, paid for the current meal and offered another one for later on. She was genuinely horrified that it had happened and couldn't apologise enough. As I said, both totally natural things that could happen in any meal made up of earth-grown food, but they took 100% accountability for what happened and went above and beyond with gestures. The prices are very good and I really appreciate how genuine the staff are. The decor is...
Read moreThe meals are the same standards Even Gordon Ramsay would be proud of. Unfortunately I can't say the same for what happens in front of house. The first time I went to central I sat there waiting for my plate to be cleared. What made it worse not one member of staff looked in my direction so I could get their attention. I wanted to order a dessert course but waited believe it or not 50 minutes. I had to ask for a manager and got 2. The restaurant supervisor and the food and beverage manager. Not one of them said sorry or showed any understanding of my bad experience. Infact the supervisor was anguementive and contradictory towards me. The job had gone to her head and didn't change her attitude what so ever. With it being a hotel café shally they would have a very good black tea. But no. It was terrible. Not only that the waitress that served me took it away when I complained it wasn't very strong after brewing for a reasonable time. The waitress took another waitress and she came over. She had a confrontational attitude which was a terrible experience. It was the tea to blame. Not the service that day. But this waitress, not manager had a poor approach to her job and customers. I will not be going there ever again. I don't...
