The food is acceptable.but quality has deteriorated dramatically over the years of visiting. Their plates are too oily and started to taste cheap as a result. However, the biggest problem is that the staff are extremely rude and arrogant. It is a very unwelcoming approach And truly represents the biggest failures of the service industry. The place needs to replace its entire staff if they want to have the slightest hope of customers coming back. The only staff who was possible to communicate with is the only female staff they had who had half a smile on her face. One of staff who was referred to as the manager by other staff and who appeared to be very aloof, disinterested, disengaged and unfriendly to say the least, did not manage to get our order right (he didnât even write it) and when one of our plates didnât arrive he insinuated that it was our fault as when he recapped our order, we did not correct him. Of course there was no form of any apology nor any gesture (I.e. perhaps serve a small desert to the table) to simply fix the situation. It was truly a disappointing experience indeed and surely they have lost customers locally and abroad. They did not really seem to care about any of our feedback in any case, which renders it an even more epic gastronomic fail. Possibly one of the most disappointing experiences in all travels to...
Read moreDictator Policy Over Hospitality!!!! I had already been warned by a friend about this placeâs absurd âdictator policy.â They were literally asked to leave because they wanted to order just starters instead of a main course â even though the bill would have been the same. Apparently, unless you follow the ownerâs rigid ârules,â youâre not welcome.
Still, I gave it a try. Big mistake. My group came on a Friday at 2:30 p.m. The restaurant was nearly empty â maybe 5 tables occupied in a huge space. We told the waiter we came for some after-work cocktails, and unbelievably, we were refused service. Not âsorry, our bar is closed.â Not âwe only serve drinks after a certain hour.â Just a flat-out âno.â So hereâs a message for the owner: if you think turning away paying customers for drinks in an empty restaurant is smart business, maybe take a hospitality 101 course. Profit margins on drinks are much higher than food â any decent restaurateur knows this. Instead, you send your customers next door, where Beba restaurant was absolutely packed and happy to take our money.
This place doesnât just lack hospitality. It seems to actively resent its customers. If you enjoy being dictated to and turned away while dozens of empty tables sit unused, maybe this is your kind of spot. For anyone else: go to Beba, or anywhere else where customers are...
Read moreFine dining means fine DINING; not only tasty food. The whole experience counts. Here we had good food (mostly) and bad service.
SUMMARY: Food: 7/10 Prices (value for money): 4/10 Service: 2/10 Going back: Definitely not. Maybe order pizza for take-away. Recommend to others: No
BREAKDOWN: Food: The food is good overall (pizza was DELICIOUS 10/10). However, the prices are too inflated for what you get. My pasta was 1 minute undercooked, FULL of oil and something in it was giving me a very bitter aftertaste. The salads were tasty, bot nothing special; simply had an outrageous price!
Service: It's not that the waiters are rude. On the contrary, they were very polite. BUT, they are not trained and don't know how to behave in a fine dining restaurant. They did EVERYTHING wrong! I believe that all they need is training for their waiters and a good maĂŽtre d'. As well as a readjustment of their prices to give some value to their customers.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place, even though they had amazing pizza. It's just...
