Our company recently held its end-of-year Christmas party at Roe and Bone. We were seated upstairs in a corner area with a lovely view overlooking the old port, which was a highlight of the evening. However, the experience fell short in several critical areas.
First, the tables were wobbly, and despite the wait staff’s efforts to stabilize them, the issue remained unresolved.
Once all our guests arrived and drinks were ordered, the starters were served. We had pre-ordered a selection of salads, beef carpaccio, and sushi, all of which were well-prepared and enjoyed by everyone. This part of the evening was promising, but things quickly went downhill when it came to the main courses.
The mains had been pre-ordered weeks in advance and reconfirmed with the restaurant management a few days before the event. Yet, the service was poorly coordinated. The first dishes to arrive were three risottos, but nothing else followed for 15 minutes. Those who received their food sat awkwardly, watching it go cold as we waited for the rest of the meals to arrive.
Next, the two fish dishes appeared, followed by another 10-minute delay before the tomahawk steaks were served. Unfortunately, only a couple of the steaks were cooked to the requested doneness. My steak, for instance, was supposed to be served rare and uncut, but it arrived medium and hacked into pieces.
I spoke with our waitress, who was excellent and attentive throughout the evening. She promptly fetched the manager, to whom I explained the situation. I expressed that the service of the main course was unacceptable, particularly since the meals were pre-ordered. The manager’s response was dismissive; he claimed they employed the "best chef in Cyprus" and merely thanked me for my feedback.
He offered no apology for the chef’s failure to coordinate the kitchen properly or to cook the dishes to order. Both the chef and the manager seemed uninterested in addressing the issues professionally. At the very least, the manager should have been proactive—acknowledging the delay and communicating with us about the situation.
It was clear there was a lack of communication between the kitchen and management. A competent restaurant manager should be aware of all aspects of the service and take steps to mitigate problems before they escalate.
Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. While Roe and Bone might function well as a wine and cocktail bar, I would not recommend...
Read moreOn Monday we decided to visit the Roe & Bone restaurant in Limassol, attracted by good reviews and a view of the yachts that promised a pleasant evening mood. However, the experience was far from ideal.
Furnishings and service: We booked a table a few hours before our visit, but there were already enough seats. We were seated downstairs in the restaurant, overlooking the yachts, which promised a romantic atmosphere. The service started with good attention to detail - they brought water, although later I was already confused about who our waiter was, more and more new people took part in creating the service))
Wine and drinks: The glass of rosé I ordered arrived lukewarm and within minutes became lukewarm due to the heat, which was very disappointing.
Food: Having ordered hummus with chorizo, I was expecting something original, but I received a huge portion, more reminiscent of a supermarket version with a thick composition and hard chorizo cubes. The bread, which was a heated loaf of dark Borodino bread from the store, was not impressive) they also brought butter - ice-cold! Yes, it melted after 5 minutes, but at first you had to break it. It would be much better if it was whipped with some herbs. And it would look like a soufflé. They also brought salt and poured it with olive oil, okay)) But the presentation is beautiful)
Main dishes: The main course, cheek risotto, was the most positive exception. The meat was tender and the risotto was perfectly cooked. But the gnocchi with truffle sauce and bolognese turned out to be too salty and did not impress with their taste. Bolognese is just minced meat)
Overall, Roe & Bone did not live up to my expectations. The prices in the restaurant turned out to be above average, which, combined with the discrepancy between the quality of the food and the expectations, makes a visit here very doubtful for the future. The music in the restaurant was strange and not quite what you would expect from a cozy dinner place, echoing a mixture of Turkish disco and national chants. While the restaurant may be attractive due to its location and atmosphere, poor service and mismatched culinary expectations are...

Note before reading: I am not the only person with this experience.
Please see the review from one month ago by „Strlk Ksmnvt“ In their experience, they were overcharged by €40, and they noticed it as well.
I have visited this restaurant five or six times and was generally satisfied.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, around 3:00 PM, I visited again with my wife. We ordered a bottle of rosé prosecco, steak tartare, and more. Our waiter, serving the left outdoor area, was new to me.
When I asked for the bill, it came to about €153. I added a 10% tip and paid. However, upon reviewing the receipt, I noticed two items we never ordered: a drink (~€6) and a tiramisu. Together, around €16 were wrongly charged.
I called the waiter back. He reacted very casually, took the receipt, and returned €20 without much explanation. Interestingly, those items were never brought to our table, nor to any neighboring tables. That makes no sense.
The next day, checking my credit card statement, I found that €177 had been charged — not the correct amount, even considering the earlier mistake. €177 reflects about a 15% tip, not the 10% I had given.
I am 100% convinced that this was an intentional scam, not a mistake.
This seems like a kind of organized tip fraud, which is shocking and seriously damaged my trust. The management seems to know about it. They comment on positive reviews, but not on the one from the other guest who got scammed too.
The payment was processed at 4:33 PM on April 26, 2025.
When I noticed the wrongly charged items, I already found it suspicious for the reasons mentioned above, but I still considered it might have been a coincidence. However, when I discovered the next day that the waiter had charged a 15% tip instead of the agreed 10%, it became clear to me that this was intentional fraud — two such “coincidences” cannot...
