I'm not one to usually leave a negative review, but I simply cannot let others walk blindly into this culinary abyss. Brace yourselves for a tale of five dishes that promised so much but delivered so little: a fish croquet, a beef croquet, shrimp pasta, two truffled beef burgers with fries, and a jacked potato, accompanied by three "Refresher" drinks.
The ambiance was top-notch, with a high-quality interior design that could easily distract you from the impending food disaster. Kudos to the marketing team; they sure know how to sell a dream.
Now, let's cut to the chase. This was, without a doubt, the worst food experience of my life. Food presentation? Flawless. It all looked like a work of art. But, alas, looks can be deceiving.
The drinks, aptly named "Refresher," were the sole redeeming aspect. They had a nice taste, not too sweet - a glimmer of hope in a sea of culinary despair.
The beef croquets were a symphony of blandness, with almost no discernible taste. And the fish croquet? It tasted as fishy as a can of expired salmon, not exactly a culinary masterpiece.
The pasta with shrimp? Well, it was passable, except for the lingering bitterness from an overdose of olives in the sauce. But hey, I guess that's subjective.
Now, the pièce de résistance, the truffled beef burgers with fries and the infamous jacked potato. The meat was drier than the Sahara Desert, and I ordered it medium! The bun? It was drier than drywall, so dry you could use it to fend off burglars, scrub rust from steel, or even send it into war as a weapon of mass destruction. Just don't eat it.
And as for the fries and potato, they were in cahoots with the blandness squad. The jacked potato must have been on vacation in the freezer before making a hasty reheat. The fries? They tasted like they'd been baptized in old rancid oil. Simply terrible.
What pains me most is that I was deceived by the glowing reviews. People seem to have an inexplicable positive bias, all because of the celebrity status of Jamie Oliver. Just because he's a celebrity chef doesn't mean the food is any good.
This phenomenon can be dissected into various psychological factors: the authority and expertise fallacy, the social proof trap, the confirmation bias circus, and the desire for a connection with Mr. Oliver. Don't fall for it.
Social Proof: People often look to celebrities as role models or trendsetters. If Jamie Oliver supports a restaurant, some individuals may feel inclined to follow suit, thinking that it must be good simply because he is endorsing it.
Confirmation Bias: Once people decide to dine at a restaurant associated with Jamie Oliver, they may actively search for positive aspects of their experience while downplaying or overlooking negative ones, thereby reinforcing their initial positive bias.
Desire for Connection: Some diners may want to feel a sense of connection with Jamie Oliver, and dining at one of his restaurants can offer a feeling of proximity or affiliation with the celebrity chef.
Here's some constructive feedback for the management team: your presentation and marketing are impeccable. Now, please, for the sake of all taste buds, fix your food quality issues and stop serving this...

While the ambience is nearly perfect, it's the little details that leave room for that extra sparkle, perhaps something to surprise and engage guests even further. However, this minor point does not detract from the overall splendid experience. 🎨
In conclusion, Jamie Oliver Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a destination for those seeking a culinary journey filled with discovery, joy, and satisfaction. Read moreWe made reservation way ahead of time for formal rehearsal dinner, about 60 people. We were in a private room, little over crowded for group of 60 – is OK. They had all waitress on the floor and had only one waitress to serve our party. So after the appetizers were served, the tables were not cleared, and half empty plates stayed for long time. We had to start pile the plates on top of each to make space for the main dish. The main dishes were served too late, they had to put only a few out because people were stuffed from appetizers. Some of the dishes were really bad such as the Octopus Salad, was basically a very fishy potato salad with bits of octopus, There was a big gap between main dish and serving dessert, people started to leave and the desserts were not served yet. We’re still served with one waitress!! Tables are not cleared yet!! I had to inform the manager. The manager had to serve the dessert basically throwing a big plates at the table. With something like dry dough w/sugar or syrup that is stale and not eatable. I did talk to one of the managers. He mumbled and said “is local”!! I had to ask for forks and dessert plates that were not put with the desserts!!. The only good dessert was “Lemon Curd” not only came fairly later, but also two pieces were put in each table of 15. It seems it is there technique to server low quality food first, later they serve small portion of the good quality food when guests are stuffed!! I was cheated for a very low-quality food, horrible service, lack of clearing the table for the guests, lack of serving food course on timely manners, lake of dessert plates and forks unless you ask. So, expect to eat like a monkey. and high prices. I would NOT recommend...
