Mar Bianco — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

Mar Bianco, situated at Paphos Harbour, offers an idyllic setting to spend a sunny day by the sea on the promenade, and I can assure you, it does deliver. The interior design is simple yet tasteful, with comfortable chairs. The food and drink selection is satisfactory but not overly extensive. However, we encountered our first issue as the staff dined in the same area as the guests.

The waiter serving me was efficient but came across as arrogant and overly assertive. He offered me beer three times, seemingly not hearing my initial order. On one occasion, he even attempted to place the wrong drink on my table. I ordered Hypnotic liqueur, but it was listed on the bill as Baileys. Additionally, I was surprised to find out, upon checking the bill, that I was informed I could only spend one hour using my computer in the restaurant, a decision that seemed arbitrary and not communicated to other patrons.

Moving on to the food, I ordered the Cyprus Platter. While the price-quality ratio was acceptable, the chicken was exceptionally dry, and ingredients like Halloumi cheese were sparingly offered compared to what was indicated on the menu.

Walked by at around lunchtime and was enticed in by a polite gentleman who saw us having a glance at the menu. I was pleasantly surprised with the prices so we went in and was even more surprised with how beautiful the interior of the place was. Very fancy little spot that you wouldn’t have known about until you walked inside, not to mention the great view of the ocean from your seats.

My wife ordered a Club Triple Sandwich, and the portion was well worth the money. She enjoyed the food.

I ordered the Black Jack burger, and this is where my criticism begins. I asked for no salad on the burger, quite clearly as the waiter repeated this request to me to make sure. This unfortunately lead to what I assume was miscommunication with the kitchen staff because my burger ended up coming completely plain, no bacon or bbq sauce, which is what it was supposed to provide unlike the rest. I accepted it as it was as I just wanted to eat, but in future I advise people to be very specific about what they want as I paid extra for nothing.

Other than that the food was good. Big, juicy beef burger. Staff were very friendly and I would highly recommend this...

Experienced very poor service and rude. I’m always choosing places with best scores in area to test service and hospitality. On last day of visiting Cyprus went to Paphos before flight and chose Mar Bianco as last experience. Ordered cocktails first, which I can recommend. Than instead of testing different place for food we decided to stay by looking at reviews. Long time of waiting and no one even came to apologise for long wait, place wasn’t even busy! Waitress came and said that food will be ready in 4 minutes. We said we’re waiting already around 40 minutes to keep it in good atmosphere I even joked a bit and mentioned that there should be something complimentary for that long wait for 2 basic meals. On what I received answer that “You wait 30 minutes You get nothing” with absolutely rude tone. I shouldn’t even mention about anything complimentary as this is waitress job to do, so as well as apologies. In next minute we made decision to leave.
