At first then service was good we were seated and our order was promptly taken. My husband ordered a Stevie's burger and I ordered a cheese burger. My husband was asked how he'd like he's burger cooking and chose medium rare. I was not asked and I guess they assumed I'd like the same, when I would have preferred well done. Our starters arrived in reasonable time and were of a good quality I had the halloumi and my husband had the garlic bread. Our mains came after a small wait, the food was okay, it was burger and chips but was definitely overcharged for what it was, the fries were cold and soggy. We finished our meal and then asked the waiter for another drink before we ordered desert. We waited for 20 minutes for a fanta which never appeared, another waiter then came and asked if we would like drinks! At which point we got the bill and left. Atmosphere was okay, but it was the same few 80s classics on loop for the whole meal (infact it was all we heard for the week - the playlist of about 10 songs seems to be quite popular in Paphos). Very expensive for...
Read moreTerrible terrible service. The waiter was absolutely helpless and had no communication skills whatsoever. We are fluent in both Greek and English and the message just wouldn’t go through. A simple question like “Do the Nachos come with guacamole?” was met with “uhhh, yes uhhh Nachos very good yes”. We asked 3 times and gave up.
Everything was extremely late, no waiter showed up nearby for about 25 minutes. We ordered waffles with ice cream, the ice cream was forgotten. Then the manager showed up and we asked him for 2 extra scoops and we offered to pay extra for it, he couldn't understand (even though we are native Greek speakers, still no luck.)
Then when the Nachos finally arrived after a huge delay, we asked if they could bring some sour cream or something similar as an extra - nachos are spicy and this is something every restaurant offers. Again, zero comprehension from the manager - ‘you want cheese? I’ll bring you cheese’.
Zero communication skills, atrocious non existent service and lets not mention the cockroaches running about. Thanks...
Read moreAfter a refreshing early morning 3.5-mile walk down the coastal path, finding Steve’s just opening up was just what I needed. The familiar face of Christoff, who remembered me from my last visit in October, added a personal touch to the warm welcome.
I settled in with 2 Americano coffees and the full Cypriot breakfast, complete with those delightful Cypriot sausages known as ‘sheftalia’.
The breakfast was hearty and satisfying, perfect for enjoying on the pier while sharing bits of pitta bread with the local fish.
Despite the warm 28°C temperature, the sea breeze offered a pleasant coolness. At 8 am, dining at Steve’s allowed me to witness Paphos Harbour come alive, which was a serene way to start the day.
The food was good, €16, and once I was fed and recharged, I found myself in one of the main tourist areas, ready to explore. Steve’s is friendly, and the food was exactly what I needed to fuel...
