Kohout NA VÍNĚ — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

I booked this restaurant to celebrate a milestone with my girlfriend, and they did not disappoint. I was originally looking for a restaurant with a Michelin star, and whilst this restaurant does not have one, I would argue it is only a matter of time before it does if it keeps the standard up.

All the waiters and waitresses were lovely and friendly and spoke both Czech and English. Something you might assume in Prague, but it was very pleasant to have the menu and dishes explained to me in English.

I must say that the standout point was how well our waiter matched wine with my dishes, we opted for the big tasting menu and I had the wine pairing with it, and every single wine was on point perfect with the food.

The only minor thing was that the tables were quite close to each other, so it got a little loud sometimes, but it is literally the only thing I can complain about.

Service was excellent, food was Michelin star worthy (I have eaten at and reviewed Michelin star restaurants in the past), staff polite and friendly (I was greeted by name when I entered the restaurant and said I had a bokning.)

I will definitely come back to this restaurant in the future for future celebrations, and I wholeheartedly...

Amazing taste combinations with great textures and unique wines. I had some of the most unique combinations of ingredients at that place, which usually is very risky since fusion dishes are hard to connect properly, but this place just exceeded my expectations. Every of my dish was a pleasure and I could enjoy it to its fullest. The texture was barely describable since you need to try them to understand what’s going on, but especially the dried carrots that have been remoisted with orange juice have blew my mind. From a pricing perspective, it’s definitely reasonable and more than fair to what you can expect. I decided to go for a wine matching, which really was a great choice. A perfect tasting menu with stunning wine pairing! The experience surpass most of the Michelin restaurant I had visited.

We had the “big tasting menu” with wine pairing for dinner, served by Kačka (hope I didn’t spell the name wrong). Every dishes are innovative and showcased the skills of feature every ingredients. The control of fire is perfect.

Kačka is professional and caring. For every dishes and wine paired, she gave detailed and insightful explanations. She also pair the wine for every dishes that brings out the character of the dish and made perfect balance.
