Bistro U Gogi — Restaurant in Prague

Unfortunately, after visiting this place for 7 years, had to change my review from 5 stars. Service: the waiter was walking around the place and talking on the phone, at some point he started playing on his phone with the sound on. When our food was finally ready and cook rang the bell, the waiter was outside talking on the phone. Strange hospitality, felt like he had no idea what he was doing. Food: Khinkali is good, they didn't change it, as for pkhali - lacking spices, the texture is totally different and had no taste. Kebab - it's not kebab, it's the minced meat for khinkali cooked in the oven. Kitchen used to be great, but not anymore. Prices: prices hiked compared to the last year, khinkali costs twice more. Beer is even more expensive than in most places in the center. The location is bad, it's in Pankrac with nothing around, so you can find a restaurant with similar prices and maybe better service in the centre, without having to cross half the city. U Gogi is a small restaurant serving up authentic Georgian cuisine that will truly tantalize your taste buds. From the moment our food arrived, we were transported to the Caucasus region with every bite. The flavors were bold, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We highly recommend trying the khachapuri (cheese-filled bread) and khinkali (dumplings). Each dish was clearly prepared with care and an obvious passion for Georgian culinary traditions. The service was also top-notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. While the food and service were exceptional, the restaurant's ambiance leaves something to be desired. Very good food. Every bit of it. Everything looks really traditional and authentic. The food takes quite some time to be prepared but that is understandable because they cook everything from scratch. The owner, who is also helping to prepare the food and serve it is a really nice guy, very helpful, he advised us to take a picture of the menu and if we know that we want to go there, to order the food via phone and by the time we arrive, it won’t be as long to be served. I loved every bit of the cheese, tasted very much like something I would get at home, good quality and amazing taste.
