I am always sorry to leave a review that is not extremely positive, however, I think this is a case of pointing out to the venue's management that there are a few things that need to be fixed. The food was good (not authentic Asian but the restaurant on the other hand nowhere says it serves an original Oriental menu), the service quick and compatible with Prague and the price range of the venue. The ambience of the venue is nice, it has an industrial vibe, tables and the room were clean. Everything was pleasant until the bill arrived. I read the same issue in a relatively recent previous review, this indicates that there is some communication problem between the management and the operators in the room.
Basically I was charged an additional service fee. This was not written anywhere or verbally communicated by the waiter. However, it was stated on the bottom of the dinner receipt that the service fee was not included. In the end I paid without an additional 12% on the total bill. Unfortunately, I am of the opinion that a tip should only be given if the service was excellent - the service at my dinner was standard - and that any extra fee should be clearly stated. All this left a sour taste in my mouth. I do not think I'll...
Read moreGreat atmosphere. It's not overly seasoned (too much salt) like most Asian restaurants in Prague. I had the Cantonese duck leg with bok choy (signature dish). Portion is not impressive for the price. Duck meat is too dry and texture is tough as if it has been cooked a long time ago and was sitting in the fridge (possibly shrunk due to this). Lack of freshness causes it to lose its juicy flavor. Use a bigger/ fatter duck so it can retain its moisture. Bok choy was served without the leaves which is a bit strange to see just the stems. Flavor-wise: satisfactory. The slightly charred stem makes it more flavorful and it's still juicy and crunchy. It will also be better if grilled then cooked with minced garlic, soy sauce and a touch of brown sugar. For this price, it should include rice. Laksa bowl portion was also smaller than expected as it says "big soup bowl" in the menu. Flavor-wise is ok. Will come again in the future to look forward to improvements :) great...
Read moreI had a lovely meal here with my partner. The food and service were excellent, at least until it was time to pay. As I took out my card, the waiter said "service is not included", so I rounded the total figure up around 90 kc (20kc less than 10%) to make it an easy whole number, which is customary in Czech Republic. The waiter tried to correct me by saying a different, larger whole number (considerably more than the usual 10%) and when I disagreed, he passive aggressively said "that's not 10%". Neither was his attempted correction. I find this behaviour surprisingly rude and it raises questions in my mind about whether staff are being paid fairly, for a more expensive restaurant, if they are so thirsty for tips. Disappointingly, it left a bad taste after such a great meal. I will reconsider before...
