We booked a table in advance through the website – the reservation process was very convenient. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, and both the menu and interior design look stylish and well thought out.
Our evening started with a starter – we ordered beef tartare, and it was delicious! A solid 10/10, I would definitely order it again.
Next, we received our drinks. I ordered a Negroni cocktail, which is usually a strong cocktail but has a slightly sweet taste due to the vermouth. However, when it was served, it tasted extremely bitter, with a strong alcohol flavor and no sweetness at all. I asked the waitress if it was possible to make it a bit less strong. Unfortunately, her response was rather rude: "Yes, it has alcohol because it is an ALCOHOLIC cocktail." I explained that I had tried Negroni in different places, and it was never this strong. In the end, they did adjust the cocktail, which I appreciate, but after this interaction, I no longer felt comfortable asking about drinks or anything else.
The main courses were well presented and generally tasted good, but not impressive – I'd give them a 6-7/10.
Regarding payment, I recommend being careful when using the QR code(Qerko) on the table. We accidentally paid for someone else's bill, possibly from the previous guests at our table. It would be great if the restaurant could improve this system.
Overall, the restaurant left mixed impressions. There are definitely some good aspects, but also things that could...
Read moreI have never written any google review but this time I just simply could not resist. I have friends who are amazed by this restaurant and praised it so much that I thought that despite my previous disappointment I will give them a second chance and try it again. First, I visited Spojka 1-1.5 year ago for a lunch menu with my colleagues. I payed over 200 czk for a tasteless pasta with approx. 3 pieces of cherry tomatoes. My second visit was recently with another group of colleagues for a dinner. I ordered a vegetarian bowl for 300 czk and I left hungry. It was small, tasteless, dry and cold, even the dressing could not save it: buckwheat, lentils, carrot, some salad, asparagus... A colleague next to me had a ridulously small salad on a desert-size plate for around 200 czk! Another one had 2 small pieces of chicken on a huge plate for 500 czk. I would understand if the quality was exceptional, but noone was amazed. I grew up in a village with our own garden so I know how vegetables (bio, duly taken care of) should taste and, as their concept suggests something like this, I expected tastes like from my home. Unfortunately, the total opposite happened. I understand that the restaurant tries to have quality ingredients and the prices nowadays increase in every sector, but come on: there are many more restaurants in Karlin that have way better quality/price ratio. I am sorry but I can't recommend this restaurant at all. Nice interior, but that's all regarding...
Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews at all, but this experience upset me so much that I feel compelled to speak up and warn other visitors to this restaurant. Karlínská Spojka is a nice restaurant with average-priced meals. The food is great, and the service could be more professional, but I’ll get back to that.
On Friday, I went there for dinner with my husband, and we wanted to have a glass of wine with our meal. We were given three options, and I chose an Italian wine, Bartolo. The waitress brought the wine straight in a glass—I didn’t see the bottle, nor was I offered a chance to taste it first. Fine. I wouldn’t expect that in a place where the average meal price is 250–600 CZK. But the real surprise came with the bill. That single glass, 1.5 dl, cost 650 CZK—yes, around €26. Yes, you read that right.
I was quite shocked because neither the service nor the atmosphere of this place suggests that a 1.5 dl glass of wine here would cost that much. Looking back, the whole situation with the wine order felt strange, and I assume I should have been informed about the unusually high price—and that’s not even mentioning the lack of a tasting option.
I’m disappointed, mainly because the whole experience felt like a scam, and also because, after traveling all over the world, it was here in my home country, in Prague, and in my own neighborhood, that I had such an unpleasant experience....
