Restaurant Flammen - Aalborg — Restaurant in Aalborg Municipality

Have visited Flammen Aalborg on three occasions (only once on my own accord), and have been utterly disappointed each time. Meat is low quality and poorly prepared, the buffet area is tiny and cramped, sides are bland, and dishes are very often stale and almost empty. This last time I had brunch, which was equally appalling, where we were offered only one type of bread (white Håndværkere), toppings from the budget line in the supermarket, and very few things being filled up. Even the coffee was poor, where it was never changed during our visit. My last cup was stale and came from the very bottom of a big tank. Nobody felt like they should change it. There were even a 15 min line to the buffet when the restaurant was 25% full. If I were to compare the brunch to anything it would be to that of a poor hotel breakfast buffet.

The only good thing I can say is that the acustics are OK.

I am amazed how popular this restaurant is despite serving some of the most bland and low quality food I've ever eaten. Considering the cost, which is around 300DKK per person, GO somewhere else. You can get quite good food in Aalborg...

Very fresh meat, juicy and perfectly flamed! The service is fantastic; helpful, takes plates after you're finished so you can take a fresh one, speaking multiple languages and makes you feel like a customer.

The drinks are big and definitely not expensive at all. The wines, rose, etc. are all good. They know what they serve. And for what we have noticed, lot's of things are possible by asking.

Fresh salads and many things to choose from. The salad is fresh and keeps being refilled before it's finished. The meat (lamb, spareribs, etc.) are absolutely worth trying. Same counts for the fried food and so on. It's definitely worth it coming here.

I was there on a business trip for the second time. I brought my colleague with me. He was absolutely impressed.

The restsurant it self is big enough for a lot of people. What I have experienced is, you definitely habe to book a table. After checking in, a very friendly employee guided us to our table and we were able to order drinks instantly. The buffet was great. I tried to try almost ever kind of meat (duck, kangaroo, beef, lamb, calf, pulled beef) but I was nearly impossible to try everything from the buffet.

For the great quality of meat, the price is totally fair. Next time when I am in Aalborg, I will...
