Beware: Make sure you do NOT get TOM as your waiter!!! He had a very nasty attitude toward my Danish friend and I.
I can honestly say this was the most unacceptable, horrible dining experience I've had in many years.
My friend and I made a reservation. When we arrived, we did not receive a menu (iPad/tablet) for 30 minutes. When we finally got the attention of a waiter (Tom) and received a menu, we put in our order in. Over an hour had gone by and no food arrived. There were guests who arrived 45 mins after us and got their food immediately.
When we asked Tom why our food had not arrived, he said he didn't know. We then had to ask him if the order was received. He went to go check, then returned and told us it was not. Turns out, there was a tech problem with the iPad.
So Tom gave us a new iPad and told us to put our order in all over again. At this point, I could not remember exactly what I ordered, and I was annoyed that he didn't just tell the kitchen our order. We had to put it in manually ourselves. I asked "is our order going to the back of the line? Or will you tell the kitchen this is a priority order? We've waited over an hour already." He said he would make sure our food would be made first, so all seemed well.
Another 30 minutes went by and the food did not come. Lots of sushi was coming out of the kitchen and going to other tables. This made me very angry because now we waited 1.5 hours and were getting very irritated and hungry. In the meantime, Tom forgot about us, and ignored us if we tried to get his attention.
When our food finally did come, Tom did not apologize. My friend asked Tom if she could get some chili mayo, and he ignored her and walked away. She then asked him again as he walked by, and he said "Order it on the iPad." and walked away. (ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! He couldn't just ask the kitchen for a chili mayo after TWO HOURS of waiting for our food?!) So we waited another 10-15 minutes to eat our sushi until the mayo arrived. But of course...... the mayo did NOT arrive. We had to ask Tom AGAIN if he could check on our order. He said he would, and it arrived a few minutes later. By then, the warm sushi was cold.
Earlier, when our food finally arrived, Tom did not apologize, but he said we would get "free drinks." But when we paid in the end, NONE of the drinks were subtracted from our bill. When we asked him why, he said "only the water was free." (WOW!!!)
The sushi tasted good, but it did not make up for the complete lack of decency from the waiter, Tom. Be careful you do not get him as your waiter when...
Read moreAs we are on a family trip together with our 2 quiet dogs, it is sometimes difficult to find an establishment where they are also allowed inside. Here, however, we were given a very hospitable welcome and were given a table at the back of the room so that the dogs were not disturbed by visitors and, of course, vice versa.
We ordered through the 'all you can eat' formula at a very reasonable price (compared to our home country of Belgium). Using a tablet, you make your choice and have a few dishes each time served to your table.
The wide variety of cold and hot dishes were freshly made, served quickly and tasted delicious.
Also, a Shout Out to the service who switched smoothly into English as our Danish is sadly inadequate. But despite being one-day visitors, we were still served as if we were regular customers. Super!!!
To sum up: Despite not returning here due to the travel distance, we are happy to recommend this establishment which, by the way, is...
Read moreThere is no gluten in their rice unlike most other sushi places in Aarhus. When I arrived they gave me their allergens card and a glutenfree soy sauce. We ordered from tablet where I could comment "glutenfree" on everything I ordered (my partner ordered things with gluten from same tablet).
The allergens card was not up to date, but when I ordered something that could not be made gluten free anyway, they just didn't make it and the server told me.
The cook was super nice and seperated the sushi on different serving boards (glutenfree and with gluten) and even adjusted sushis on the menu to be without gluten-ingredients so I could try more things.
I would recommend not coming in rush-hour as I assume it will be harder for them to take such good care as they did for me. I ate there around evening on a weekday.
There is a discount if you eat early eventhough the price is already fair for...
