Ahaaa — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

This place was right in front of our Airbnb, so we went there by chance the first night around 7pm and they said all the meat was gone already. We thought this was a sign of meat freshness so we came back the following night (earlier of course 😉). This time we could choose between lamb, meet and chicken and we chose the first. There is no English menu and unfortunately we were not offered to choose between the several good looking sides available (a shame), the guy who was taking the order was not very talkative. So we went to find a table, the are about half a dozen of tables so it was easy to find a spot (apparently many people takes it out). The table was not get clean, we had to do it. Also tablecloths are not available. Atmosphere is relax inside, even if many people are on the line at the counter. After about 10-15 minutes we got our dishes with lamb skewer right from the BBQ (they cook to order), in a nice plate with 5-6 sides, everything quite good although vegetables were cold (as it usually happens in Denmark). As a side also a pita bread, a little small actually for the quantity of vegetables. In general I can say a good meal. Also consider they only take cash or dansk cards. We had to go and get some cash to finalize the order... Beer is not available. Restroom available downstairs, not in great conditions. I can't recall the price so I cannot say anything...

I booked this place for several people, because the menu looked very nice and the reviews were good. Booking time was 19:30. We were asked to write our orders ourselves on a piece of paper. First, we were told that many of the things we wanted were over: could happen at the end of the day. But after, some courses were not arriving. When asking to the waitress, who was in general very nervous and quite rude, why that was happening, instead of saying sorry she accused us not to be able to write, and that our hand writing confused them. Some meat dishes arrived cold. When I pointed out that the service had been bad to one of the managers, again, instead of saying sorry or justifying why that was happening, he laughed at me. At the end the food took 1 hour to arrive, and when I was washing my hands in the bathroom at the end of the dinner, they literally switch off the bathroom light with me in, accusing that because of us they were closing later and they wanted to go home! This is not only very unpolite, but also dangerous as a person could maybe fall in the dark! Concluding, I think that wrong days can happen... but if they get so nervous at the end of the day and they can't manage the stress, it would be better to close a couple of hours before. That's really a pity, because the potential of the restaurant was good, and that's the only reason why I am not...

Table was not ready even though we reserved it. After the table was cleared we had to ask the waitress to wipe the table since she didn’t do it even though it was very dirty (sauces, napkins, some food and one used glass (that she never took) were still there) Our reservation was at 7:30PM on a Saturday. We wanted to order shortly after arriving but the waitress then told us she wouldn’t take our order for the next 15 minutes. The whole cooking team left the kitchen but we saw some of the workers prepare food for themselves and eat it right next us in the restaurant. We then asked if we could order drinks already (the waitress didn’t think to ask). When we ordered our preferred drinks she informed us that they were not available at the moment. Less than half of the drinks listed on the menu were available. Only canned drinks or bottled water. After waiting for 30 minutes (until 8PM) we decided it was not worth it and we would just pay for the drinks and leave. When we paid, the waitress seemed surprised and informed us that she would take our order now. But she never thought to come to our table and inform us that she was ready now.

All in all, we really don't understand how this restaurant has such a good rating. It was a horrible experience and almost ruined...
