Ok pizza, "diamond level" prices. Ok tasting pizza (for me), provided you like the NY-style pizza (I do, although I prefer Neapolitan). They surely source quality ingredients and are friendly, but the taste could be improved. However, the real slap in the face is the price tag of 65DKK (8,70 Eur c.a.) for a SLICE of pepperoni pizza. It exactly is a diamond slice: it is priced like a jewel! Sure, it is a very generous slice and the place is in a premium location. Sure, I understand the challenges of running a place through abnormal inflation times. Sure, I understand Copenhagen is very expensive. But come on....it is a slice! Just as a comparison, Little Brother (my favorite place for pizza in Copenhagen) lets you have a proper NEAPOLITAN pizza starting at 90DKK.
Of course you can't directly compare the two styles. However, consider also that - generally speaking, not talking about Diamond slice and in my personal opinion - Neapolitan pizza requires higher level ingredients than the NY style: one has pepperoni, the other Italian sausages. One has "cheese", and the other has either Fiordilatte or Buffalo Mozzarella. Still, LB (and others like Pizzeria da Luca), keeps prices very reasonable. So is it possible to keep somehow prices contained?
The owner might object the slice is big: it is true. But assuming - extreme case scenario - a slice could be so big to cover 1/2 of a full pizza: a full pepperoni would still cost you 130DKK.
If you are in the area though, give it a try. If you do not mind the diamond price tag, as I said, the staff is friendly and they sure use good ingredients. If prices will become more reasonable, I would personally come back over and over. As I said, it is not my favourite style but I do like...
Read moreThis place really delivers what its name says: a slice for a diamond. Or, if you prefer, a pizza slice for 8€ (it’s about the same if you ask me). The facts: this pizza is really good and the slice is pretty big. Plus, Copenhagen is a freakin expensive city, everyone knows that, but at the end of the day I’m really not comfortable with the idea of such an expensive pizza. Being Italian, I know I can get something better for way less, but with some kr/€ more I can get an entire pizza even here in CPH, so I honestly can’t get the hype. Anyway the place and the neighborhood are really nice and the location is great for a chill glass of wine too. It is always pretty crowded and the welcome is a bit cold. Overall, I think I would suggest to try their pizza - which is nonetheless tasty and rich - but I thought it was right to honestly express my...
Read moreBack home we belong to a pizza club. Really nothing more than excuse to hang out with friends and eat pizza. While on vacation here in Copenhagen the wife and I decided to find her best pizza Copenhagen had to offer.
Diamond slice takes the prize.
I am also NY born and raised human so I do take my slice a bit serious.
The crust was really good, extra sour I noticed as well, a slight bit of bite to it.
They added just a tad too much parmesan to the cheese slice but over all it is still a quality slice.
The wife got pepperoni slice and thought it is better than the plain cheese.
Finally we tried the hot honey. I loved this slice . Big fan of white pies and I had expected the honey to overpower the slice , it did not! It was subtle and added to the slice..
If visiting Copenhagen this is a must stop place to get...
