I visited this place in October during the late afternoon on a weekend. I was hungry. I ordered the eggplant stir fry with beef and the popcorn chicken.
The eggplant stir fry was completely disappointing. I was hoping for a good stir-fried, tasty eggplant. The eggplant was not stir-fried but rather soggy and undercooked. A very little amount of beef. The whole dish was swimming in a brown, non-tasty sauce. Whatever stir-fried parts were left, they were drowning in sauce. I asked for a spicy version and it was not at all spicy. The dish was too salty and soggy. The value for money is not right. I had better eggplant stir-fries all over the US.
The popcorn chicken was ok, but again too little for too much money. Nothing special. It is basic breaded chicken.
Nobody asked me how I liked the food during eating. That already shows a lack of service skills. I decided to complain, but nobody cared. I don’t think the staff is very customer-oriented or friendly. Only at the end, somebody asked me how I liked the food. I gave my honest opinion and told him what I did not like. No compensation was offered. It shows that they don’t care about happy customers.
Keep in mind, not even restrooms are provided for guests. Not a chance to wash hands before the meal. I prefer soap and water.
I will not return and rather spend my money...
Read moreI write this review with sadness, as I am only staying until Tuesday in the city and I cannot go tomorrow to eat lunch or dinner there. What an amazing experience. From the moment we entered, there was a kind attention even if we didn’t have reservation. They suggested to wait and called us when a table was available. Once in, the food quick! We started with the popcorn chicken, which was crispy and tasty, jointed by a chili mayo that had the correct amount of spice. The Guabao with pork belly felt like a hug to your mouth. Soft, juicy, contrasted softly by pickles. The dumplings were fresh and juicy (I recommend to take the mix portion). The bok choy was smoky and salty, not overcooked at all. But, the reason why I decided to write this review is the egg noodles with duck. This reminded me of a little restaurant I used to loved, back in the day when I was a student in Amsterdam. That dish made my heart warm and happy. The duck was soft and simply seasoned so you could taste the real flavor. You could see the egg too! And different veggies, with a lot of spring onion and carrots. I will be back to this place, where the kind staff greats you and serves you happiness. My recommendation is to get those noodles and add the chili oil they offer. Att. A...
