Izumi — Restaurant in Frederiksberg Municipality

Good quality food with some downsides. We had reserved a table for 4 due to a birthday and we were told that we could reserve a specific table. We choose one at the window. When we came the waitress told us that the waiter we spoke to was not allowed to do that. OK. He is new, no problem, but the waitress was really cold and unkind and we didn't feel welcome. I feel a bit bad, but I need to describe her so the restaurant can talk to her. She has red hair and worked the shift the 11.5. in the evening. That evening we met different people from the stuff and they were all really kind and friendly except from her. She walked through the restaurant as she was the boss, not smiling at all and every time she came to our table she was in a bad mood. We felt not welcome. In the end she even asked my sister (her 16th birthday), not friendly at all, to show her the ID card to prove that she is still a child. NOBODY of us has ever mentioned that she was a child (under 12), so we could pay less. What an unpleasant way to confront your customers.

Regarding the food and the overall experience, it was really good and we can recommend the restaurant. The sushi was from high quality and nicely made in an open kitchen. That is always nice to see. The miso soup and the chicken balls weren't as good as expected. We would recommend to order a seafood salat or certain sushi plates. The all you can eat is also worth its price!

Furthermore, I want to point out the very kind and respectful male waiter who made the mistake with our table. He was just happy every time he came to our table and tried to help us the best he could. Good job. That is how a waiter needs to be!

The last thing: please kill all the flour moths because there were some flying in the dining room. That is not really hygienic.

I think I have never criticised so much and still gave 4/5 stars. That is because the food was so good quality and the overall experience still good. Hopefully the restaurant is gonna fix the...

We were there on the 5th of December 2020 from 19:20 - 22:00

Location: Perfectly located in the middle of Copenhagen. Easily accessible by bus, metro and bike. You'd have troubles finding a parking spot for your car though.

Environment / Atmosphere: Cosy and family-friendly. You can come with your family, friends or partners.

Service:

Positive - The staff was great at answering despite the business. They were pretty kind and thoughtful towards the customers. The kitchen workers were pretty fast at making the entire order, which took around 20mins to be ready (it is way normal for a busy time like that).

Negative - They give an IPad and a sheet of paper to fill in for the Ad Libitum orders, but we weren't informed previously that either we should make the order on the IPad or the sheet. It turned out that we can see the pictures of every sushi type on the IPad, which was even more complex to look through. It was pretty convincing in the beginning because in some other sushi places the IPads work as the order sheets.

Place: The restaurant is not small but not big either. This type of medium sized restaurants has to keep the reserved seats available because we had made a reservation at 19:00, we arrived on time but we had to wait for 20 minutes for our seats to be available. It is understandable that they are busy at those times, but if we've made a reservation, then we should get the tables right away.

Other than that the toilet wasn't really taken care of.. There were toilet papers missing, and it was a bit dirty inside. (it happens during the busy times, totally normal)

😡Bad staff… no one informed us that we have to pay Everything left on the table… each piece of food for 10 DKK. 2 girls yelled at us… and said that a colleague informed us… but no one said this from the beginning… what they said was that the man who was responsible for the information would come and prove it and no one came and you can only leave 3 small pieces for the whole table or they must not be booted… they yelled at us and they were not polite words…we will never come back!!!…and I advise everyone…..Avoid this place…because they only want to make money out of you😡🤬🤯and my Picture its from outside… no informations about this… same from staff 🤬 only in end when they want it some extra money for them 😡 for info If it will read it restaurant… it will be not posted only here…becouse it was really rude and not polite😳 I was working in restaurants and pubs, and I never said it this Words to custumers never, never…this is unprofesional and also choosing how to pay after them and together… when needs to be sepatetly… normaly it was 259 per person and of course drink… but they put it 300 extra…tips for not...
