Terrible Experience – Unsafe, Unprofessional, and Disrespectful
We came to this restaurant to celebrate a birthday, but the evening took a painful and disappointing turn. As the staff approached our table to sing “Happy Birthday,” one of them accidentally dropped a tray with dessert and glass plates—right on my head. I suffered two cuts on my arms, and my wife had a small cut just under her eye.
Shockingly, no one apologized in the moment, except for the receptionist as we were leaving. After I cleaned myself up in the restroom and returned, there was still glass all over the chairs and under the table—completely unsafe and clearly not handled properly.
The next morning, I contacted the restaurant to ask about compensation for my clothes, which were stained with blood. Mine alone were worth over $300, while our food bill was only about $100. The owner asked me to stop by, but when I did, he didn’t apologize or show any concern. Instead, he dismissed my experience and told me that not charging me for dinner “was enough.”
The owner, a young and arrogant man from Spain with long hair, clearly has no understanding of customer service. He was egocentric, dismissive, and showed no respect or empathy for what happened. While the staff seemed kind, they were clearly not properly trained to handle such situations.
It’s especially sad to see the wonderful people of the Dominican Republic being mistreated and overlooked by selfish, arrogant foreigners running businesses here. This restaurant needs serious improvements in management, training, and basic...
Read moreway overpriced for what it is, portions are like samples, I get more food from samples going to Costco for shopping, the taste mediocre, the sushi was one of the worst I ever tried , the Shrimp ceviche was a joke, maybe two shrimps cut thin and nothing else but onions, was more like an onion ceviche, $usd 10 for a large water bottle and almost $20 for a Spanish tortilla half way done (potatoes, eggs and onions), on top of the overpriced menu, add a 28% more between the mandatory tip and taxes, service at the same level as their food, they try hard to be nice but not efficient, waited for more than half hour to get my bill straight because they kept making mistakes, the place itself is beautiful but I am going to eat, not to look at the decoration, the music very loud, like being in a club , not coming back here, there are better places with better food and service in Punta Cana instead of coming here and waste your money and time for a mediocre experience. Laughable how desperately false reviews most likely from employees try to keep the overall review stay higher , not hard to tell which ones are real and which are phonies. Customers like me that experienced the rip off, bad service and the mediocre food are pretty consistent about the same issues. Another deceiving and scammy way to...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at Cabanna today, and it exceeded all expectations. The food is absolutely incredible. The lamb racks were, hands down, the best we've ever tried—cooked to perfection, tender, and packed with flavor. The filet mignon was equally impressive, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
The service was top-notch—attentive, diligent, and genuinely friendly. Our server made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive, which made the experience even more enjoyable.
A special mention to their cocktail selection! They offer a wide range of premium options, and each one we tried was crafted to perfection. There's something for everyone, whether you prefer a classic or a more creative mix.
While Cabanna doesn't have a designated kids' menu, we were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to accommodate our picky eater. With a diverse selection of dishes on the menu—80% of which are inspired by Spanish cuisine—and a variety of international options, we were able to find something our son loved. Plus, they even offer some well-known Dominican dishes, which was a great touch.
All in all, Cabanna is an absolute gem. We will definitely be back for another unforgettable meal, and it's a great spot for families too. Highly...
