Maccaroni pasta factory — Restaurant in Higüey

I had hopes for a delicious meal, as the owner spoke with me to recommend their pasta. I asked if they could do a simple dish with shrimp, mushrooms in olive oil as I can't eat dairy and cream. He personally gave the order to the waiter, confirming it was no problem. I was presented a lovely looking dish with fresh fettuccine and mushrooms covered in cream sauce. The water I ordered with my wine came out after the food, even after politely requesting it. At the end, I ate the tomatoes and shrimp. When asked why I didn't eat the pasta, again I explained, "I requested no dairy" and if I eat this, I will be very ill in less than an hour. Charged me full pop, $2355DOP (I even reminded them, they missed charging me for the water) I've walked by this place many times, I'll keep walking by in the future. Very disappointed. Currently, the food and the environment at the restaurant is really good. Nice pasta dishes. However, when you visit a restaurant they should let you see the menu ( Take your time to decide). I went there twice, they offered me a table of Jam, chesses and so on. In fact, as result and the words used by the manager host we understood that the restaurant will take it into their account ( house) and it wasn't. We'd to pay one of the most expensive dishes ( table things without a price authorization clearance) . Recommendation: If you want to offer something and it as a fee, let it know to your guest before ordering it or just show up the dish in the menu first and them you will not loose a potential food lover restaurant guest. Needed a place to stop in for an afternoon quick bite....as we were in the area ..so just out of the blue decided to stop in... there was a birthday party going on and the staff all sang then happy birthday...service was great ..it was clean...we didn't order anything fancy but what we ordered was probably the best we have had since arriving..the quality of the food was very obvious..and when we asked for another item he happened to ve out but offered solutions...I am sure with all this covid it's not easy being in this business right now...as you can see many other shops and restaurants shut down..but I would support this place from our experience...and the cold coffee latte was outstanding...visit and check it out and support the...
