What an incredible discovery Chinois Restaurante was during our trip to Punta Cana! We found this gem randomly on Google while exploring Bávaro, and it turned out to be a highlight of our vacation. Located at Ave. Barceló in Plaza Paseo San Juan, the restaurant has a charming, modern vibe with unique Asian-inspired decor that made the atmosphere cozy yet vibrant. We kicked things off with their pork dumplings, which were an absolute treat—steamed to perfection, bursting with savory filling, and paired with a delicious soy dipping sauce that we couldn’t get enough of. For our mains, we ordered two king prawn dishes: one was a rich garlic butter shrimp that was so flavorful and tender, and the other was a spicy Szechuan-style prawn dish that brought just the right amount of heat to keep things exciting. The chicken dish we chose—crispy sesame chicken—was a crowd-pleaser, with a perfectly balanced sweet-and-tangy glaze that paired beautifully with the fluffy egg fried rice, packed with fresh veggies and scrambled egg. The fries were a fun addition, golden and crispy, ideal for soaking up the extra sauces. The portions were generous, the prices were fair for such high-quality food, and the service was exceptional—our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Reviews on Tripadvisor rave about the family-run feel and excellent dishes like pork dim sum, and we totally get why this place has a 5.0 rating! Chinois Restaurante is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Asian flavors in Punta Cana, and we’re already looking forward to our...

Read moreThe festive Chinese New Year decor adorning the restaurant, parking lot, and a special little park with a dragon and pagoda, drew our eyes to this new, fantastic Chinese restaurant tonight -- and we couldn't have been more pleased. We ordered the fried wonton appetizer, the steamed wonton appetizer, the lettuce wraps, the golden dragon pineapple sangria, and a Tsing Tsao beer. The dumplings were really delicious as were the lettuce wraps with assorted meats and crispy rice noodles. We also tasted a few morsels of the char siu pork which were savory, sweet and delicious. We were privileged to meet the owners, a multicultural family with Dominican and Chinese roots. They were extremely personable and genuinely lovely people, you can tell they poured their heart and soul into bringing quality Chinese cuisine to the Bavaro community. This is definitely a step up for the fine dining scene in Punta Cana! The owners recommended the duck prepared three ways along with the Fuchao, a Chinese version of paella. That will be my next order when I return with friends. A+ Jao Family. And Happy...
