Punto Italia — Restaurant in Higüey

Went there on Fathers Day......my daughter suggested Punto Italia.....i had never been there...didn t even know it existed.... Now I know why.....having owned 2 Bars/Restos in the DR can be challenging and good staff is hard to get but.....this was a joke....from angry to laughing our heads we became.....a real joke. The service was absolutly NON EXISTANT. Because it was my daughters idea I didnt want her dissapointed but after waiting 20 minutes for a waiter to come to our table...I was ready to leave....there was 6 people in the resto....so we waited. When called the Italian manager to maybe get water or a menu he asked a waiter and we waitered another 10 minutes and asked the manager again for a menu and maybe water or a beer ? He again walked away asking the waiter to come to our table with a very arrogant answer of....Welcome to the D.R. Well he wasnt much help either. Terrible service. An hour or so later we received or Proccettuto con fungi pizza without mushrooms My Milanese steak.didnt come with any side dishes....just a small slab of meat.... And my wifes seafood pasta came without shrimps or any anything looking like seafood. Again we were told but the manager ...You know Dominicans.... Being a foreigner myself I thought it was a very bad reputation given to the country.... I think the problem starts with management. I wonder how long we would have to wait if the resto was full. Definately a waste of money ..... to avoif at all costs....now I know why I had never heard of this place.....terrible....to bad I cant give a.Zero or...

09/2023 I went in and sat at a table near the entrance by myself. There were only 2 other tables occupied. As I'm walking in, I see a waitress look at me and say nothing, then another one did the same. I waited about 15 minutes and when I stood up to walk out the first waitress walked up to me and asked if I was being waited on already. I told her I had not, and she apologized and said she had not seen me. I said "you looked me in the eye twice in the last 15 minutes, what do you mean you didn't see me? We made eye contact". She denied seeing me again. I was so thirsty I decided to order a beer while I looked at the menu. Not only did she bring me the wrong beer, but it was almost at room temperature. I asked for the check and walked across the parking lot to El Pub.

06/2024 I always say everyone deserves a second chance. I was wrong though. The service was actually worse this time around. Not a single smile, not a single thank you. Zero knowledge of the product sold. Bad to the point that I ordered a Sambuca and was served dark rum. And I don't know if I mentioned it before but they have the most uncomfortable chairs ever. Hi, I went to have dinner with friend From Canada and it was so embarrassing. The service is awful. There’s no respect to customer that we going to spend the money in your restaurant staff have to be trained. They don’t know nothing about trained to accommodate a customer. Also, you sit there if you don’t call or say something to them, they will not come to your table, we order and they didn’t ask my friend because she didn’t speak English red flag. I call her back and say you didn’t offer anything to them. We return the pasta twice I order a chicken sandwich, and they brought me a vegetable sandwich , we order wines glass and they bring maybe if you lucky 2 ounces It’s very sad that the owner not putting attention to his business they stuff going to bring the business into bankruptcy they should be in top of their employees pizza burnt pasta salty Prices are not bad.
